That's about right, but be aware that you are better off having it a touch on the loose side than too tight. There are endless topics about factory spec's being too tight.......that's how I run mine...

Don't worry about running at 3000 rpm for extended periods. It doesn't hurt a thing, plus you are right in that power band where you twist the throttle and you're gone :-)

That's all normal. There is nothing wrong with the bike, that's just where the fan kicks in (a little over half way). It has a lot to do with all the plastic fairing/lowers blocking all the cooling...

It's not just these bikes. My buddy has a 15 Can-Am Spyder which does the same thing from neutral to 1st gear. just the nature of the beast. Try short shifting the bike (shifting at a way lower rpm)...

I don't know what bike you have. I have a 12 Voyager and its always run on the outside of the rear pulley which is normal. I have 3 buddies with belt drive bikes and none of them run in the center...

Exactly right. I thought he was talking about the crankcase vent hose. I didn't see much change when I plugged the air injection hose on my 1700 either......my 1500 was a different story tho.

I wouldn't block it off. When we install a BAK that vent hose is still supposed to be run from the engine to the air cleaner. There is no advantage to blocking it off.

I would try using a desulfating battery charger. I did some research on them and picked up a reasonably priced one. I had the same issue on my 2012 Voyager.....started it up and watched the battery...
