Head Light
Anyone out there ever switched out their headlight bulb for brighter one. I want to get the most visability so I don't get tagged by a cager as well as reach out as far as possible with as much light as possible on those night rides. I already put running lights on but I want the brightest bulbs possible.

its been done many times on here by others. you can go as bright as your fuses will allow. im sure they will chime in with part numbers. i run stock myself.

Definitely options out there, but if you put your running lights on the same circuit as the headlight, a brighter bulb may push you over the top on that fused line.
I have looked at several options, but never been convinced on a good solution. There are bulbs out there with the same draw, but brighter, but there are issues with them. I decent thread from the BTK site on the subject is here: http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...b-upgrade.html Problem seems to be that the brighter ones don't last long, or draw too much power. I am interested to hear what other members have found or done though.

I got the Wagner Off Road lamp from napa. Forget the #, but, its on gadgets site. some have used Silverstars and there is some talk of an HID kit which I have yet to hear about. There is a thread here that goes into the bulbs that folks use with luck or advise against. Most agree that the more light(s) the better.

I'm using the the 100/80 W off-road headlamp bulb from NAPA but don't have the pn either. Also added 2 50W bullet driving lights on a separate circuit. Very bright for seeing and being seen.

Ive been waiting 4 years for my bulb to burn out so I could install a brighter one, Its still working. I ride with the headlamp on highbeam all the time, but one day I'll try one of the brighter ones. Last season I replace the 35 watt driving lamps with 55 watt bulbs and it made a difference. I not suffering from lack of light, but more is always nice.

I switched mine out with Silverstar Ultras and they are a major improvement over stock. I am looking at converting to HIDs in the near future.More light/less amp draw.

Replaced stock bulb with Hella HB2 9003 12V 60/55W. High Performance Xenon Blue/DOT compliance.
Bright white light. Comes in pack of 2 for about $45. Seems much brighter. I think that I read if it has a short life, it's the high beam that goes. Have about 2500 miles on new bulb but I don't drive much at night. So, I can't testify about longevity. |

I've run the silverstars (H4ST) and like the light that they put out. Their life span isn't neccessarily the best. Two have lasted only 2,000 miles each, one was still going strong at 15,000 when I traded in my last bike.

The Silverstar I put in my Boulevard lasted around 12000 miles. I have almost 14000 on my Nomad and still going strong.

BP1210/H4........Is the part no. for the bulbs from NAPA......They are actually Wagoner Bulbs.
These are 100 watt high beam and 80 watt low beam and are the brightest bulb for the money you can buy. I have been running this bulb on my Nomad for almost a year now and ran the same type bulb on my 900 for about 2 years. VERY bright bulb. Also I run 55 watt bulbs in my lightbar which is on a separate circuit. Really lights up the world at night.
