it's nice but i am wondering if water will pool up around the switch
causing corrosion problems.

Nope..used a marine switch.

That will work for ya Radco...Its easy to turn your lites on and off without having to wire them to your headlite H/L beam or to have to reach down to the lite bar to turn on/off...marine switch was about 12 bucks..Bdog

Yea nice mod. But I'm trying to figure out why I would need to turn my running lights off? I have mine set up when I turn the key on they come on and they NEVER are off, until I shut the bike down. Mine have the built in switch but never have used it. But I think I might use that if I added more lights, like low on the forks for fog lights, that I wouldn't run all the time.

I'm with you Scoot. I have mine set with my head light. I'm planning on LED's/Accent lights at some point and I'll need a switch then, but until then, I don't see a need.

I like the idea of being able to shut them off or turn them off easily. I replaced the 55w with 100w sealed beams and I find them to be too bright for oncoming traffic but when on the road at night and alone..they work sooooo fine...Bdog

Looks great man. these are what I used on mine they are a rubber boot with a nut on it. Just screws on and no water inside plus I liked the black I put two switches in the left side cover and they blend in nice. You can get them at napa.

The best reason I use the switch for is lights with out running the engine. Mainly setting up a tent after dark, where others might be sleeping.

Yep..that will work..have done that too. Also (in Canada), not sure if this applys to usa, if the lights are too powerful or "illeagal", the dot will pull you over and tell you to remove them, or cover them up or smash them on the spot! Some of us adjust the lites a little higher up than our headlite. As a trucker, I sit higher up than cages do and the highway lites will be very annoying even in the daytime. So out of courtesy and legalitys..and camping..I feel its a good idea to be able to easily turn these lites off and on...Bdog

I run my Cobra spots all the time day/night, just turn my headlight to dim at night of course. I dont have anybody flash me so far. Mine are only 25W spots but super bright.

Bdog, Each state has it's say on this, but not all states care. The ones that do seem to want spots on with just low beam. NH doesn't care a whit, so I can run mine any ol' time it pleases me.

Mine are AIMED down so I can see up closer, which is handy on dirt roads, wet grass and etc..

I keep my bike in a barn, and the barn has no lights, so many times the spots are left on after dark so I can see enough to open my bags and get items I don't want left outside over night.

I can also hook up my auto float charger, and then switch off the lamps.

It would be a very sorry cop to break my personal belongings.
