high milage
How many miles do you ride a bike, before it starts having many problems, and you can't rely on it for long trips etc.......My nomad has way over 40,000 on it, with no problems so far.. I'm sure it's good for many many more, but......what's considered high milage on a bike.....

Me....had 5 problems in 23,000 miles on my Harley. That's why I'm riding a Nomad now.

I sold my 99 with 63,000 miles when it was 4 years old, because it went out of warranty. It was still running fine and during it's last summer with me I was still going on trips into the most remote places in the whole US, riding solo.

The salesman where I bought mine had a Nomad with 150,000 miles on it. His advice was just keep up the regular maintenance and they seem to last forever.

'02, 20,000 miles, best I can tell from the first owner's records, nothing but regular maintenance, one new rear tire. I'm going to change both tires during the off season in a month or so. Still has the factory front and a Pirelli rear.
I put 8k of those miles on it so far since July. |

The thing about a low reving V-twin, liquid cooled cruiser motorcycle engine like the Nomad's ... is that it's like a small car engine. Car engines are expected to last 200,000 miles without much in the way of problems ... With today's motorcycle technology, it is not unreasonable to expect similar longevity in engine life. Consumables such as clutches are a given for replacement at some point ... but overall the Nomad engine is about as durable as they come. My 03, which sits idle about four to five months each winter has over 60,000 miles. I have replaced the stators and the clutch. ... and tires several times.
