Throttle question from new owner

Question for you all about this awesome machine. When I roll on the throttle at idle and shut it down it takes a few seconds for the rpm's to return to idle. It almost seems like the throttle is slow in returning on it's own or is it just the momentum of the massive jugs and crank free revving? Used to have a 1100 shadow and it never did this. It immediately returned to idle rpmwhen letting off.

Throttle question from new owner

Dave, first off welcome to the website. Next my Nomad is identical to yours and I noticed the same thing about the throttle. I ignore it now.

If Orchards is anywhere near Richland you need to meet up with Chuck aka half of the VulcanCouple.

I also have an "06, and it too goes right back down to idle speed. Dos your throttle snap right back or slowly slide back when you release it?

Then again, maybe green and silver ones really are the best!

Fixed the problem. The throttle deceleration cable was adjusted too loose which would not pull the throttle to the close position when the throttle grip was closed. If you have this problem try readjusting the cable via manual's instructions. Apparantly I can not trust the dealer mechanic setup. Wonder what else they did not do right.
