We just signed the papers for the new house in Phoenix. It's farther North than where we were expecting to buy, but it's nicer than we thought we could afford. Only about a mile from the church we plan on going to. Nice neighborhood above Cave Creek. Nice pool in the back yard. Needs some fixin' but that's what we were looking for.

Congratulations!!!

In this market if you have the means you can get more then you expect. Just be sure in the long term it stays affordable with regards to property taxes.

Congrats! A pool is both a pleasure and a PITA!

I've heard that a lot of people in Phoenix area have salt water pools. What's the advantage?

They're all beach front properties...

They aren't really "salt water" like swimming in the ocean. It's a different process of treating the pool water, instead of using chlorine, they use sodium chloride. I think it's less expensive in the long run. Pool chemicals aren't cheap.

I guess with that sunshine and heat, you'd constantly be adding chlorine.

Yep, when it's this hot, the water can turn green in a hurry.

Congratulations on the house purchase, the pool can be a real bonus most times.
My pal just had a salt water pool installed a couple weeks ago, they are getting popular here as well.
We have to heat our pools here, you may have to cool yours in Phoenix.

We down sized to 1/5th of our property value in Lynnwood. We should be OK.

Not yet on the market. . . I have a few more upgrades to add while the ink dries on the new one.

Anyone want to buy a nice 5 bed / 2 bath in Lynnwood, WA?
