Tire and Wheel Protection Plan

I couldn't figure out how to put this on the tire section, so if it needs to be moved no problem.

When I purchased the bike (2007 in 2010), used, (3000 miles) it came with a 5yr transferable warranty from Kawasaki, all I had to do was register it under my name. He paid big bucks for that! Next I noticed a paper from Select tires and wheels, sold through the dealer, extended warranty for the wheels and tires for 5 years, he paid 450.00. Its called select plus from Assurant Solutions. My question is has anyone heard of or done business with this company. I can transfer title for 25.00 Any thoughts? I can't figure out if this is legit!

Ive never heard of that outfit for tires, what are they supposed to cover? damaged tires or worn tires? See if you can contact them by phone and find out what they do, if they still exist.

I Googled them

http://www.assurantsolutions.com/

They are a specialty insurance company.

Call them and see also ask if there is any deductible

Your tire will be replaced within the five years if you damage it by hitting a pot hole or something on the road (like a cinder block, nail, angle iron etc.). It will not pay if bike is in an accident or paid under your comp coverage. It will be in effect up to your tread depth of 2mm or the 5 years. You have to call the 800 number on policy at the time of event to get an authorization number or you will not be reimbursed. It may pay for towing to have tire repaired with the top tier policy but not if paid by your roadside assistance coverage (can you say "jump thru the hoops". Nomad tires are expensive but not like 240+ series and sport radials where it would really pay you to have it. You can put the $25 in your "accessory & chrome fund" or just save it for a new tire when needed.

As with all ins. companies , fine print! The policy is the premium one and it covers the wheels also. Thanks for input.

It sure sounds like something that you would probably never put a claim in for, after going through their requests.

Steve hope your feeling better, on the mend, hope to meet you in Maggie. I think I'm gonna pass on transferring to the policy there is too much fine print.

There always seems to be a catch to policies like that.

Sounds like who ever bought it new ran into a salesman! When I sold mobile homes and cars the more insurance you could tack on the more money you made. In the moble home business if you sold credit life (where the home is paid for if you die) and usally was about 3000 dollars added on to a 15 to 30 year loan and would not add much to the montly payment for a payment buyer .But what I found out and you did not suppose to tell them was if you did not die in 3 years you could not collect! But you still paid interest on the 30 year loan on that extra 3000 dollars or more . That'e BS.I told my customers not to take it and just buy if they wanted a life insrance policy taht would cover everything.my bosses did not like that but I just could not do people that way.No more sales for me Just a plain old plumber or turdanater as they call me.
