Good Times Protection Plan

Ok...
What are my options to renew the Good Times Protection Plan if the original one expired? It has been 3 months since it expired.
Are there other places that will warranty motorcycles?
Thanks

Good Times Protection Plan

Clayton,
Don't know what Kawi offers in the U.S. but in Canada when I bought my '08 there were 1, 2 & 3 year plans (in addition to the basic 2 year warranty). I suppose that if you originally bought a 2 year plan you may have an option to get an additional year extension after the fact. However if your existing plan has expired you may be SOL.

I'd say check with your local dealer. generally speaking they make a decent profit on the plan so if there's an option for them to sell you a GTTP extension, they'd probably be happy to oblige!

As for an extended warranty from someone other than the manufacturer, most aren't worth the paper that they are written on. There's so much fine print, deductibles and things that are excluded that you're likely to have a claim rejected. Just speaking firsthand from years of experience in the car industry.

Good Times Protection Plan

I took the Good Times 4 yr plan when I purchased my bike. The Good Times plan states that it must be purchased before the 2 yr factory warranty expires. They may make an exception but I doubt it. Ask your dealer as canuckrider said.

Good Times Protection Plan

Mitch, I didn't purchase the extended warranty when I purchased my Nomad and the two year warranty expires this April. Can I still purchase the extended warranty as long as I do so before April?

You should be able to purchase it as long as your 2 yr factory warranty is still in effect.

It's worth every penny. My rear shocks easily covered what I paid for the GT plan and then some. Peace of mind is priceless IMO.

I don't have it on my 06, but wish I did, while at at the same time haven't needed it. The price of parts for anything is like the parts are made of gold.

I just bought a stinking overdrive relay for the cage, and it is double what it should be, at 61 bucks, and the first parts place gave me a heart attack wanting 102 bucks for the same relay.

This price thing in the 21 st century is right out of hand. I looked at a wool shirt yesterday and it was 61 bucks. I guess we are supposed to go around naked.

Wow that EBay deal is fantastic....... I just received a letter from Kaw and a single year was $462.00. I have just asked the dealer in Co. a question concerning the plan. I'll let you know what happens

I bought mine on E-Bay and didn't have a problem at all. The dealer was quick to mail it to me.
Well worth the money and piece of mind.

Chainsaw, Thanks for the reply. I checked out his feedback and along with your reply decided to go with it and purchased the 4yr GTPP. Funny how things happen, letter from MaKaw and then this thread pops up. Thanks again....

Clayton,
I think you are SOL. You have to purchase the extended warranty before your original one expires. I bought mine from Fremont for around the current advertised price. Nobody beats the deal from Fremont Motorsports (in the link above)....and it is good all over the US.... !
