I need to replace my rear tire (post modified)
I know this question has been asked before. If the search feature worked better I could probably find the answer there.
I want to go with a car tire ( Darkside ![]() ![]() I should have mentioned I ride two up most of the time. Depending on who is riding with me the weight is any where from 120 lbs to 200 lbs (my son is 6'2", he will be riding with me on a 1500 mile ride, plus gear) Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Some guys are running the Dunlop car tire. 195 and 205 both work.

Obviously, the 205 is taller than the Metzler you are running. And wider also. There are a few guys running the 205 GY Triple Tread and the Altimax. Haven't heard any complaints. I've been running the Dunlop 196/60 for nearly 2 years. No complaints other than I'll drag the pipes if I don't keep 32 psi in the tire and 30 psi in the shocks. I've got 17,000 miles on it and I'm going to add about 3,000 more on it at the National rally. That will be about the end of it when I get home. I may go with the Bridgestone Turanza 195/60 for the next tire. DKDixie highly recomends it.

Take a look in the Tech section, lots of good darkside info there.

Depends on which bike you have.
On a 1500 either a 190/60 or 195/65/16 are the choices. With a 1600 you should think about a 205, there are a lot more choices. MT
