K & N Filter and Chuckster Set Up Question

Got a 07 stock Nomad with Cobra FI2000R fuel module. What K & N filter set up is recommended if I also add a Chuckster's plate? Are there different K & N filters to select from or is one the best? Which Chuckster setup is recommended? Thanks.

K & N Filter and Chuckster Set Up Question

I put the 2 plate system on because I wanted to retain the origional look.
The K&N filter recomended for the 2 plate system is E-3402.
The mod seems to add a little power and sound, IMO. Well worth the investment!

+1 on some extra power and sound. I did the 2 plate system with the fi2000r because I like the stock balanced look. On Chucksters site he gives you the part # for the k&n 7" filter. I would post it here for you but I do not remember. (the product of growing up in the 70's I guess)

K & N Filter and Chuckster Set Up Question

i have chuckster's two plate system with the K&N-3402 filter.for pastor gumby.i don't have a photo, but the two plate ststem looks just like your stock set up except there is a 1/2" gap at the base
plate where the filter is exposed to the air.

That helps clarify. How about if you wanted an exposed K&N filter on one side, could you keep the other side "stock" covered? All the different options are a bit confusing.

After you open up the right side the left side doesn't do anything any more so you can leave it stock or change it any way you want to ( see the picture of the left side of mine)

I also used the 9" plate on the right side with a Spectra blue filter to match the color of the bike.

Do the filters come in different colors? Looks like I have seen blue and red in some pictures.

Oldbikers:

How does your Spectre filter compare to K&N? What is the part number for yours?

lonewolf is correct they only make it in 9" but chuckster has a 9" plate if that is what you want, I put one on jamie24's bike not long ago. Here is one place you can get the air cleaner and lid or you can get them at any parts house the part # SPECTRE #48056 BLUE HIGH FLOW GAUZE AIR FILTER..
