Loose saddlebags

just a quick question for everyone.....how loose are the saddlebags on your nomad.......do they move around much.......is it possible for the rubber grommets to wallow out to allow the bags to move around...the bike is a 2005 with approx 10,000 miles....my bike's seem to be very loose and moving.....I have wrapped electric tape around the tabs that fit into the grommets temporarily to take up the extra spaceand it seems to take out the play. Thanks for any feedback

I have thumbscrews that hold mine on and sometimes they work loose after a while, so do my seat bolts. I just keep an eye on them.

before you go to the dealer and pay alot of money for the rubber...somewhere on this site is a CHEAP fix ...might be on gadgets site...i cant find it but i think it had to do with using a toilet flapper for a couple of bucks.....

i would think that if you found some rubber hose with the same ID as the size of the tab that fits in the rubber and with an od that is 1/4 to 3/8 larger than the ID it would work as a spacer.....just an idea

Thanks Bull

I will get some tomorrow and try it.....I also found that the little rubber cap that goes on the end of a cigarette lighter power adapter will fit on the saddlebag tab and not allow for the play in the bags.

Mine is an '05 and the bags are tight, in other words no wobbling around when idling or running.
