Trip's summer storage

Now most people up north know about winterizing their bike and storing it away for the cold weather, right? Well, I spoke with Trip today and he told me that he has put his Nomad up for summer storage. Now, he claimed it had something to do with the recent sale of his house, but I think I know the truth of it.

IT'S DAMN HOT HERE IN TEXAS!!! Today it was 104 and it's staying in those triple digits regularly. And for those who attended the rally, they saw that Trip has to wear a big hat to protect his sensitive skin.

So Trip has become the first to summerize his bike!

What Trip is doing now instead of riding:

Trip's summer storage

Geez Trip, sorry to hear about your hiatus due to heat. I live in TX and I have not missed a day yet due to heat. I rode whether its 100 or 107. Its just heat. that big hat would be hard to keep on the ole head though while riding as SWB said. :-)

Trip's summer storage

Trip looks kind of sad in the bottom pic. He must be watching one of the LSU vs Texas baseball games.

Man looks like trip is going to have to put a fairing on but instead of a stereo he will have to attach an AC unit. Maybe time for an oldwing. :)

But CJ....Trip's got humidity in Texas! Lucky you....you've got that "dry" heat. Hell, 104 in AZ is almost like a cold snap!

Trip's summer storage

Guess I could sympathize a little with Trip. :-/ Of course it was 114 yesterday, so I haven't been riding much since I got back. It is 11pm and it finally went below 100 degrees.

Trip's summer storage

I winterize and summerize my Nomad by riding it if it is below 120 in the summer and above 25 or 30 in the winter. Heck, I am 62 and closer to 63. How many years of riding does anyone have left. I am going to enjoy my bike as much as possible for as long as possible.

Trip's not the only one. With the humidity here I rarely stray from the a/c when it's above 95 - my Norwegian blood tends to boil above that temp and I start gettin' grumpy. So yeah, the Nomad's been parked for the better part of a month now, maybe longer. I am planning for a ride this weekend when it's only supposed to get up to 91. :)

I like hanging around the A/C unit also when it gets to about 80. Im not sure I could function very well in those warmer climates.

Trip's summer storage

Its hotter than a fresh f_ _ ked fox in a forest fire here in southeast texas, My nephew just came down from Washington to stay a few days, he said he cant breath. So Trip I can relate with the summerizing on the bike.

Ahhhh once you go south Ringa, you blood thins out and you will never be able to handle the cold anymore. Trust me, I used to live in Rochester, NY just across the pond from Toronto and frequently the winters were far worse. Now the though of snow makes me take 30 sleeping pills to hibernate. :)

I haven't been on my bike since we got back from Custer but it has nothing to do with the heat it is because Bea has had me working on the house every day and every one knows it don't get hot in Mississippi.
