American flag
Who has an American flag attached to their bike that fits well, and where'd you get it?
Also, of you guys that ride with a flag, did anyone hassle you about riding a Jap bike with an American flag flying in the wind. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

American flag
I never had a hassle about a Japanese bike, but I had one guy who got all anal about the correct way to put an American flag on a motorcycle. I had the American flag on the right side, the other flag was on a pole the same height, but when the bike was in a picture, I was leaned in a turn (Deals Gap) so the other flag was higher than the American one). The guy ripped me a new one about how the American flag must ALWAYS be higher. The guy didn't need a chill pill, he needed a chill suppository!
(this was on my old Concours, I haven't mounted a flag to the Nomad yet) |

After 9/11, I kind of had an issue with folks who drove import vehicles with american flags on them. And there were lots. Seemed rather hipocritical (sp). I then thought about why people drive (buy) what they do. Price, quality, looks, etc. There are Americans living the American dream selling, repairing, etc imported goods. A lot of Americans have gotten rich from non-American goods. They probably are more patriotic and bleed more red, white and blue than most. I double dog dare ANY anti-import person to get rid of all of the non American made stuff they own. They will likely have not very much. I know I would have next to nothing.
So put that American flag on your Kawasaki with American pride! Then tell those anti import folks to burn all the non American clothes they are wearing and see what they do. (Also ask them how their Curtis Mathis television is doing) ![]()

I own 3 Toyotas and my Kawasaki. My mower is a Honda and my TV's are all Japanese.
I generally could care less if someone has a problem with me buying "Japanese" because if given a choice I will buy American if the American product is the same or better quality at a similar price. But rarely is that the choice. The one exception is to the Veterans that actually fought the Japanese...they deserve the right to give me grief (the only vets that have voiced an opinion to me have are my father and my father in law). I am not sure I wouldn't feel the same as them if I had fought the Japenese. That whole generation deserves leeway when it comes to the subject (IMHO)

P.S. To put in perspective I wonder how we would feel if Al Queda surrendered and turned over a new leaf...then started trying sell great cars and other products in the U.S.. I suspect most everyone that can remember 9/11 , the wars/battles, and lives lost would be very vocal against buying their products.

American flag
I tried to post a pic but I can't resize it. But I have two American flags on a custom mount on the back of my Nomad. The only comment I've gotten is where did you get the mount. The flags are there because of the pride I have in being an American. where we have the freedom to purchase anything we want. I'd feel pretty stupid posting a Japanese, or any other nations flag for that matter, on it.
I understand the feelings that the armed forces that served in the Pacific campaign and civilian population as well. Because I wouldn't take food or a d--- thig my ex made for me if I were starving to death! However in the end it was an honorable unconditional surrender. I have no grudge with Japan.

American flag
When I'm in the States on the 4th of July (and that is just about every 4th in the last decade) ... I fly an American Flag. Never had any hassle ... Just once in a while when in the south, someone smiles when they notice it is a Canadian bike.

I was in a local bike accessory shop early this week and saw that they had on several versions of flags/mounts with several by Kury. Might try Kury's catalog/site

Could care a less what anyone thought. That's why I bought a Nomad. That was 65 years ago and it was a dictator we were fighting against, not the Japanese citizens. Anyway, we're buddies now and I doubt the vets would have much of a problem, either. We've been protecting Japan ever since and won't even let them have armed forces. I think the only people who would smart off would be the Harley guys, you know the same ones who drive Toyotas, Honda 4-wheelers, etc. They're not even worth talking about. Jamie

i am also in the market for a good, cheap mount for flags....i just can't seem to get up the gumption to pay 35, 50, more for a twisted piece of polished aluminum with a plastic mast and a flag......one of you fabricators need to get into this market and drive the cost down!!
