I had to look up what you where talking about. To tell you the truth I haven't followed college football since the late 70's. I do have family that are big USC fans though so I do hear about them once in awhile.

Out here in California we are lucky when it comes to having Championship Pro sports teams.(Dodgers, Lakers, Angels, Kings, Ducks, 49rs, A's, Giants, Raiders)
In different sports venues all around the nation you can hear the crowd chanting "Beat LA, Beat LA" . No one chants Beat Atlanta or any other city. Why? Because all their life they have had to watch their home team loose to a California team.

It is hard to stay with just one sport team when we have so many great Championship teams to choose from and it seems like every year we have a team or two playing for a championship. In 2014 we had the Kings and the Giants win championships.

20 years ago I went back to following Nascar and out of those 20 yrs,

11 championships have been won by a California driver.

When it come to the best Weather or Sports, California is the place to be. That being said I can't wait to get the hell outa here.

We can discuss this in greater depth in Lake Tahoe over a few beers and I am sure that we can come to an agreement and that would be that the first round is on Schoeney.

Cliff ...good eye. You are right...more than 9. We will supply Bill a few cold beers while he explains why he is in denial about PAC 8-10-12 Championships.

For some reason Bill believes the BCS years were the Holy Grail.

The truth is all the pre 2014 "National Championship" participants were a result of a selection process other than a direct playoff on the field.

Granted the 4 playoff participants in 2014 were still "selected" but at least they had to beat another playoff team to make it to the big dance.

Now that National Champions need to qualify on the field for the big game I don't know if the SEC will ever win another title or major bowl game! :p

The SEC's post season was a disaster this year. Heck, they might want to disband next year and join the Big Ten or one of the other strong conferences.

HaHa ...drinking beer with Bill this year should be even more fun than last!

Quack Quack! Go Ducks! Go Pac 12!

The current system is better than the BCS. The BCS was far better than the AP vote. Simple fact u 2 can't get away from - P12 has not won a Nat
Champ game where u played a game for it. SEC has won 9!!

It's still somewhat of a selection process. I guess that until they have a number in the playoff similar to the FCS and Div. II and III you can still say it's a selection process. They left out at least one team that would have been interesting to see in the playoff.

On the more interesting drinking beer this year. Yes it will. We can talk all about the Seahawks success in the Super Bowl.

Joel - txs for making my point. Both the BCS and the "new" system involves a voting or selection process. And, both have a game that is played (PLAYED) on the field where the winner is officially* viewed as the Champ.

The only way I can see to eliminate a vetoing or selection process is to down size the D1 schools to 60 or so, have either 4 or 6 conferences and allow the Conf Champs and only the confederacy champs into the playoffs. That would force the wimps at ND to join a conference. None of the above is going to happen. So, we are stuck with a voting or selection process.

After celebrating 'poop gate', the Seahawks got what they deserved.

* In 1996 all D1 conferences signed a contract that created the BCS. One of the stipulation of that contact is the Nat. Champ would be determine in a game played by the number 1 and number 2 teams in the BCS poll and that the D1 conference would recognize that winner as the Nat. Champ. In 2005 LSU played Oklahoma for the National Championship. LSU won. That sane year SC was VOTED number one in the AP poll. But, no one but SC recognized the VOTE of the AP.

You are right Greg....I'm no Brad Pitt. With my distinguished grey beard and current ride, I am much more comparable to this gentleman.....

Hmmm.. How do you respond to that without stepping into it?

The Vics are purdy. A good balance of performance and looks. We are all pretty lucky right now there really isn't many bad bikes out there.
