Never noticed that in the car

I saw a thread on another forum that would seem very apropo for here. What are the little enjoyable things you notice on your motorcycle but not in your car. One of the things my wife always mentions to people is the smells as you travel downthe road. I notice the subtle temperature changes as you drop into a river valley or hit the interstate.

To me there is nothing better than Honey Locust trees in bloom in the spring on the bike. Nothing worst that finding a Skunk trail or one smashed on the road.

New mowed hay. Fresh mountain air. More than anything just that feeling of total freedom that being on a bike brings.

One of the things I notice on my bike is that most people in cars don't notice me on my bike.

When there's a chance of precipitation: How far away I can see known landmarks. For example, on the commute home, if I can't see the silhouette of the Catoctin Mtns. west of Frederick from about 15 miles out, I'd better start thinking about when I'm going to put my raingear on.

The smells and changes in temperature.

The smells of the citrus blossoms in the spring and the subtle temperature changes.

Driving a car is boring, riding a bike rarely is.

We have a fertilizer here in the north that some farmers use. It is called liquid manure.
I have no sense of smell but Cindy really hates the smell of it. It makes her gag it is so bad.
The question was what do you notice not what do you enjoy, right ;)

Springtime honeysuckle. There are four spots on my daily commute that it is really strong. Then there's the Mt. Trashmore they are building in Newport News close to I 64 that I could really do without. I had not smelled new mowen may for several years until a trip on the bike last to visit my daughter in Ohio. Just outside Columbus for several miles. Brought back a lot of childhood memories. Nothing like a bike to let you know your alive.

There are a number of large dairy farms around here and they have these things called "manure lagoons". Especially fragrant on a hot day.

Good one Putt!! I completly agree!
I like the smell of the Orange blossoms, fresh mowed fields, cool air at 6 AM in the spring, riding along A1A and the sea breezes and stumbling across some roadside BBQ place in a little town.

A car moves people around; A bike moves our souls.

Never noticed that in the car

I notice kids in the other cars looking at me more often and how often they, or adults, wave.
My wife and I feel like we're in a parade sometimes. :)

I also notice how dangerous it is to be in a hurry. I never like to ride when I'm rushed. If I can't get there at a relaxed pace, it aint worth it.

Change in temps from city to rural/Interstate to State Road..............who's cooking bacon early in the morning.............who just cut a hay field....................that waterfall on the BRP that I had been by 50 times in a car but never saw until I went by on a motorcycle.....honeysuckle...........tobacco field..........fresh mowed grass.....dairy farm.............burning leaves............decaying leaves in the fall........

Now I want to apologize for offending the smokers out there......but that cigarette from the car in front of me.....wait....the smoke from whatever the person in the car in front of me is smoking....seems that a lot of the time it is a bit sweeter than your normal tobacco smell.......I seem to get behind those cars quite often....guess maybe they are driving extra slow.
