New Addition to the Garage
I have been looking for something a bit sportier to ride for a while now and finally came across a '07 ST1300 with 9700 km's on it. It was too good a deal to pass up, the thing looked new! I also could not pass up the range and mileage that these bikes get, my biggest frustration with the Nomad is the range.
Not sure what that means for the Nomad yet, but I get the ST on Thursday so I am excited to put some miles on it yet this year. Here are a couple pics of the new ride.

Nice machine, congrats,
I wonder after riding a cruiser how the seating / foot peg layout will be on a long trip? My brother found foot placement a little confining going from a cruiser to a goldwing and put highway pegs on the wing, now he is a happy man.

New Addition to the Garage
I just switched to a ST1300. Rode it 2600 miles in the past two weeks. One 804 mile and one 670 mile day. Very comfortable and the 300 mile tank range is a delightful change. I rode through 300 miles on one tank without stopping without any more aches than 300 miles on the Nomad. Astoundingly nimble and smooth, no head buffeting, stuningly fast acceleration and through corners, but the bags are a bit smaller and you don't get any chug-achug-a sound like a V-twin. Almost sounds like a turbine. I like the Nomad sound bettter, but don't mind the ST's. My wife likes it, but said the seatback on the Nomad is better than the Givi topcase on the ST. After we rode a while she told me to "engage the warp drive." I dropped it into 3rd at 3500 rpm's, and rolled on the throttle. We quickly shot above speeds that can be expressed with two digits. As I slowed down her assessment was "AWSOME! Do it again!" Good bike......Great wife!!!!!

Very nice bike Corey. I have always looked at those bikes, I like'em :) Good luck, but can't believe you would sell the Nad :) If you take parts off the Nad to sell let me know I'll save on the exchange and duty LOL.

New Addition to the Garage
Well it was a hard decision, I have a lot of time and effort (and a little money) invested in the Nomad, but the riding I do, it just was not the best bike for me anymore. A lot of the ST riders put on insane miles and seem to love the riding position, 800 to 1000 mile days are not uncommon it seems, something I would not want do do on the Nomad even with the Russell seat. I grew up riding sport bikes so the position does not bother me, it is definitely not sport bike like, but also not cruiser like as far as the riding position.
I may keep the Nomad yet too, but if I do decide to sell it I will likely have many parts for sale :) There are great people here, nothing like this site for the ST, so that is a little discouraging, but just getting into the other forums as well so who knows.
