air shock pump

Has anyone tried one of these no brand shock pumps? Is it a zero loss pump? Does it do the job?

Well, it looks like a copy or knockoff of the Progressive pump I have. The copy doesn't state if it's lossless or not, but the valve (what little of it shows) appears to be right.

That would be my major concern, you don't want to use a pump without a lossless valve on it for the air shocks or you'll never get the pressure right. Other than that, it's probably okay.

I bought a knock off on e-bay and it pumps well but bleed valve quit working after just a couple uses. $20 but sucks.

I'm a firm believer that a person should buy the best equipment they can afford.
Doc, your a veterinarian , you should have been able to afford a Progressive Pump. ;)

Ive used my Progressive pump for 3-4 years now and its never let me down, and it was slightly used when I bought it for $20.00
They seem to be a good quality product. Sometimes some of the knockoffs appear to be the same but there is a difference.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to save a few bucks, but it's not a savings if the pump won't last.

I have one of the Progressive pumps from 1999 and still use it. It was for and still is for my xs 850 sh yammi.... Both bikes have that air kit, the yammi does it on the ft forks while the nad we all know, but one air inlet does it my bikes. The nad has a gauge, and i set it at 10 psi in Spring and it still says 10 psi.

K9.... I bought the same pump. Its NOT a true zero loss pump.
It loses 1 to less than 2 lbs of pressure when releasing.
I use 20lbs of pressure in my shocks. Pump it up to just over 21lbs, release and its at 20lbs when checked.
So little I can live with it.......and I've expermented with it dozens of times.
Love the 9" size......I think its worth the 25 bucks!!

Just neuter a few more dogs and make that Progressive pump yours!

air shock pump

I just bought an air shock pump from a HD dealer up in Michigan that sells on eBay. Price was $39 + $4.00 postage. The dealer service was excellent. Do an eBay search for "Harley 54650-03A" or go directly to:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...Q5fAccessories

There were a few eBay vendors with cheaper prices but more postage. So look at the total cost.

air shock pump

I bought a progressive pump and it only works half the time it bleeds off. It pumps fine but it seems to leak off only on the left side shock.

cant use anything with high air pressure, like a gas station, your air compressor or even an air tank, it will blow out the shock seals and there goes your oil(and shocks). Also you cant check air in the shocks with a reg gauge, Therefore, you need the zero loss air pump, :-)

mericanbike: Thats a good price IF thats a Progressive pump.
