Good to hear you got it squared away. FYI, I too lost about 2 MPG after installing a Dobeck but the lack of pinging and increased performance made it a fair trade off I think.

Excellent!! Just don't check the mileage until your right hand quits playing with the new found "get up and go".

Okay, I haven't had the time to run a full tank of gas yet. However,.............the gas I have burnt doesn't look good!
From full to the first bar=41kms
to the second bar=85kms
At this rate I will only get about 210kms per tank!!!
Should I turn Pot#2 down to 3?
Thanks

Ride it. Figure gas mileage at fill up and distance ridden not with the gauge.

Okay, I road until the fuel light came on,..............191.2 kms! (I use to get 250)
The bike took 16.32 liters.
So I'm not a mathematician but this doesn't look good!
Cane any one help with the settings of this TFI?
Thanks

I did the conversion you got 27.5 miles per gallon
Pretty low.

I would turn pot #1 down to 4 and pot#2 to 3

#4 9 o'clock

#3 off or just cracked between 0 & .5

Clean throttle body

If it won't adjust right you may have to play with the TPS Adjustment.

Ran my second tank at these settings. I found that if I was hard on the throttle it still pings?
Maybe I need to set #2 a bit higher?
At these settings I went 215 kms and it took 13.255 liters. Can anyone translate that? Thanks

In what gears? Both 4th and 5th are over drives. But there should not be ping. I still think you have a vac leak. That will create ping no matter what you set the TFI too. A vac leak will get you really bad mpg's too. ( i think you may have sent me 2 pms, will check now.)

Okay, a lot has gone since I last posted.
I put C hucksters air kit on.
The TFI is still set on:
#1-3
#2-3
#3-off
#4-9
The bike runs great here, the mileage isn't the greatest! About 260kms per tank.
When I start it up I can slightly smell gas.
When I hit the throttle going down the rode a puff of black smoke comes out!
The bike is rich mixture, what pot should I turn down #1 or #2?
Thanks

POOKER - I don't have experience with the 1600 but my 1700 & tfi does not need that much fuel ie when I talked to dobeck about settings they suggested some exotic numbers which I already new were not going to work - my nomad was stock but lean & they suggested 2.5 for #1 -3.5 for#2 2.0 for #3 - the only reason I called them was because I had a unit that malfunctioned and had to clear up some things - bottom line is for good [driveability] and mileage on my 1700 with debaffle and k&n the best setting is #1 at .5 or less 2&3 at 0.00 and #4at 9.0 - the best running with # 1 is adjusted at@ 2000 rpm carefully by ear as the instructions say - best fuel mixture is 13.7 to 1 for best combustion - higher # are lean lower # are rich if u see black smoke on acel. u are to rich on #1 or #2 or both

my last dyno run said my f/a ratio is @ 13.5 up to @ 3000 rpm then went to @ 12.4 because I had pot 3 at @ 0.25 and it don't need the xtra fuel - since then ive set # 3 to 0.0 and will do another dyno to see if a/f is right and power is better - just remember the tfi is not a real precise unit - it is a poor mans way to help correct a lean running engine - the pc5 can adjust fuel and timing to get best performance happy motoring
