Dobeck TFI

Hello, My ride is the 2008 Nomad.
It pings so bad on all grades of gas!
MY BIKE IS ALL STOCK.
I was told to get a fuel processor,.......so I did!
The Dobeck TFI was recommended.
Okay, I have it set up as such;
Pot #1 (geen) 3.5
Pot #2 (yellow) 4
Pot #3 (red) off
Pot #4 (RPM) 3
The bike does run better!
HOWEVER!!!
Before the fuel processor was installed, taking off with a full tank of fuel one bar on the fuel gauge would disappear after about 80 kms.
NOW,...the first bar disappeared after only 40 kms???
What is going on?
Surly there must be someone out there that can tell me what numbers to set the pots?
Thanks

I don't have a fuel processor myself but plan on getting 1 in the future but my 08 is all stock except for a B.A.K on it and ya my fuel mileage sucks ass as well, i fuelled up before going to work drove roughly 35 kms and first bar disappeared not sure if it has anything to do with the air kit or if this is just normal.

I have an 08 Nomad, when I put the Dobeck TFI on my bike my mileage went from 37 mpg to 35 mpg, I lost about 2 miles per gallon. I used the recommended settings, and have not gotten around to adjusting it for optimum performance, one of the things I plan on doing eventually. In my case making the bike run a little richer got rid of most of the pinging most of the time except in really hot weather, but losing 2 mpg which I feel is a good trade off.

Mine is a 2007 with the TFI, hyper charger and after market exhaust. My mileage didn't change much but I can tell you my first bar consistently goes out from 70-85 km. whether I'm two up, trailer or by myself. At 45km you have an issue for sure.

Pot 4 is most likely your problem. Set it to 9 and leave it alone. It's designed to kick in more fuel at high speed, set to 9 it will come into play at about 4500 RPM. At 3, It will be adding fuel at about 1500 RPM, way too soon! Bye bye mileage!

Hopfully mac will jump in with a more complete explanation!

My 02 Nad with a 07 1600 motor gets about 40 hwy and 37 city. When I first put the TFI in it still pinged on regular.
You will have to run it awhile to get the carbon out of the heads. Run some seafoam.
I slowly turned pot #1 down. It's about 3 now. Mine never pings on regular now.
