In the past I have had starting issues in the cold and wondered this? Especially with the plugs getting fouled so easy, having to burn off the raw gas off plug sucks when you are frozen to bike. Lol

Mine cranks much easier since I started using 10w 40 Mobil 1.
The new fuel management box helped also. For the life of me I can't remember the name. (OLD AGE) TFI dobeck. Duuuu!

There is no such thing as cca for a 18Ah battery.
There is no such thing as hotter or colder plugs in any sense of hotter or colder sparks. Hotter and colder refer only to how fast or slow a hot plug cools thru the center ceramic. So a hotter plug for colder weather is a fruit cake idea. Running a hotter plug means you have a oil problem, and running a cooler plug means the engine is running too lean. it's - 10 degrees here and my bike is on a shumaker charger charging the only battery i ever had since 06 when i bought the bike, and I am not going to go see if it starts because i know it will even at - 10.

The problem is most any other charging system isn't close to 40 amps max out put.. If other charging systems were just that much it would be fine to slap on cables and jump start a Nomad. So long as the Nomad key switch is OFF you can run jumpers to the battery and run a car charging system just fine.. But before you try to start the Nomad you want the car off, leaving the jumpers on if you wish..
