1500 fuel filter?

Does the 1500 carbureter Nomad have a fuel filter? I noticed a surging while cruising today and never have replaced one. Maybe it's time. :-/

1500 fuel filter?

1500 carbed does. It's inline under the tank right in front of the fuel pump. Just pull the tank (piece of cake on a carbed model) and you can't miss it.

1500 fuel filter?

1500cc (01-04) FI Vulcans

It's because those are the only years that have a replaceable filter inside the tank. The '00 FI system used for Classics, Nomads, Drifters and Meanstreaks continued to use the same filter setup as the carbed bikes with the filter outside the tank. Vulcan 1600's (5.3 gallon tank) have a screen on the fuel pump but no replaceable filter. So, if you have an '01-04 Nomad or Classic this page is for you!

1500 fuel filter?

I don't think mine has ever been changed, I'll probably do it next time I have to remove the tank, like when I install my cruise control.

1500 fuel filter?

Changed it today. It took about 10 minutes. I didn't take the tank off just slid it back so I could get to the bottom hose clamp. That way you don't have to disconnect all the lines holding the tank on.
