Keep us posted on what you do and how it works. Barnett spring is fine, my son used that on his. I'm just older and don't have the hand strength for that anymore. Good luck on the project.

+1 on the MS spring. I changed my spring and all the plates in Aug. It was recommended to me that I use the '03 MS spring so that's what I ordered. Smoothest shifting of any bike I've ever owned...
