Front Fender Tip Qusetion
Would like to hear from anyone who has added a chrome front fender tip to their 1600. Also would like to know if the 1500 and 1600 have the same fender? Thanks.

Front Fender Tip Qusetion
I installed a National Cycle front fender tip. Had my bike less than a week and got a big rock ding from an oncoming vehicle. Fender tip covered most of it and used 1/8" pin striping tape to outline tip and cover most of what was left.
![]() ![]() Then had to add rear tip as well just to keep everything in balance. No sure if 1500 has same fender.

I have been meaning to go to a swap meet and see if I can pick up a lighted one from any other model to see if I can get it to fit. I don't think the 1500 and 1600 are the same.

dkdixie , that looks like you had to drill the fender to instal. How much of a problem was that?

I am still nervous about drilling the new Nomad fender, though. I like the MC trim, but it won't protect the fender and it is straight where the fender is slightly curved down. |

Probably be even easier if you took the fender off.

One more question.
The fender is kinda thin. Do the screws hold the tip on good or do you need to put a nut of some kind on the underside of the fender. Dosen't seem like a lot of material for the threads on the screw to hold on to.

I have the same fender tip as in dkdixie's pic above. I have phillips head screws with nuts on the backside of the fender. I've had the tip for several years now, but I think the hardware came with it.

You don't tap the fender, definitely have to use a nut. In fact, I had to use slightly longer bolts instead of ones that comes with the NC tip. And I didn't care for the stainless bolts so I replaced with chrome flat heads from Ace Hardware. ![]()

I have the National Cycle Front and Rear tips for the front fender and the single tip for the rear fender. I swapped out the supplied screws and nuts for longer stainless steel screws and self locking nuts. My 2007 has a rolled inner lip on fender that made the supplied stuff to short and I wanted self locking nuts anyway!Measured twice, then taped and marked, then measured again and then drilled. Was nervous but went well. key is to drill center post hole first. Still get many comments about how much they add to bike. I bought mine from Scootworks in NC and they were $30 cheaper than anywhere and they paid shipping cause I got some risers also and was over $200 total.

I have the same "National Cycle" fender tips as DK (and the others). I have them on the front and back of the front fender, and on the rear of the rear fender. I to had to get longer stainless bolts and used nylock stainless nuts. They list the front fender tips as being the same for the 1500 and 1600, but the back IS different between the two. for a 1600 the part #s are N739FF for front of front fender, and N739RF for the rear of the front fender (combo of both is # N7013), and for the rear of the rear fender, # is N7014. They do add a nice touch of class, and IMHO, I like the look better than the smooth F&S ones.

I know this was asked, but didn't see any answer. Does anyone know if tip from another bike will fit the nomad fenders?
