How many have changed their air intake?

I'm just curious - just installed the very simple version of the Caddman Air Filter Mod and was wondering how many of you have done that one (or any other, for that matter), and how it compares to stock. Impressions? If you use a TFI and know your settings, I'd be interested in that as well.

How many have changed their air intake?

Did the Caddmann on both sides with the blockoff plate (left for looks only obviously), removed the ICS and marbled the reed valves.

Overall impressions have been good, noticeable performance difference. Mileage took a small hit if any, never tracked it that close before, but seems overall about even depending on how I ride though. Was not sure about the intake noise sucking air in, but got used to that. No TFI though, have a PCIII.

How many have changed their air intake?

Did the Caddman, TFI, Debaff.
I used a rubber stopper instead of marble
MPG's about the same.
MBA dyno (My Big A$$) says performance improved

How many have changed their air intake?

I did the Caddman on the right side, then added Chuckster's 7" aluminum backing plate and 7"x2" K&N air filter.

ICS solenoids - removed
Vacuum tubes/hoses - removed (capped at manifold)
Crankcase breather vented back through the intake
Reed valve hose - plugged with rubber stopper.

I have removed the air filter housing and backing plate from the left side. Still deciding what to do over there. I would prefer to keep the crossover tube and just cover it with something.

I have a Cobra FI2000R with the pots currently set at 3-5-0.

How many have changed their air intake?

Have VH pipes, did the thunder kit w/exposed k&n right side only operative. TFI plug and play. Solenoids gone, reeds gone, all plumbing blocked off and cleaned up. Actually, just got through doing some more 'tuniing' and she runs like a scalded dog. Big difference in 'grab a handfull' acceleration. Just rolling on at 60 in 5th (2200 rpm mas or menos) is much improved. Gas mileage, about 38 from 40. Maybe with a lighter hand, it would be better, but where's the fun in that!? ???

How many have changed their air intake?

OK, I did the one side caddmann mod today and changed it back--to much racket. Didn't have a whole lot of time because I want to ride in the morning and it got pretty late installing a Clearview windshield. More on that later.

The noise of the solenoids was unreal on deceleration so until I figure out what to do with those, I going to keep the cover on. Dooley pipes with a Fi2000 set at default and running very rich, so I got to work on that one too. If only I could retire~~~~~~

How many have changed their air intake?

TFI tweaked just right, caddman mod kit on the right, ISC unplugged, marble in the tube, left side balnced but sucking no air, V&H pipes and she is running lke a scalded dog. You will take a hit in mpg no matter what others will tell you. Your mpg will drop 2-4 for the extra hp. At least Im honest. :-)

How many have changed their air intake?

I bought my bike used and it came with a Hypercharger installed. I'm dumping the Hypercharger and going with Chuckster's 7" plate. I figure the performance will be the same and I won't have the Hypercharger limiting my access to the brake pedal or taking skin off of my shin.

(I was previously going to go back to the stock air system until my shop told me how much they would charge me in labor)

How many have changed their air intake?

I got 34.7 mpg today. Gutted mufflers and goatbelly, Caddman right side, K&N replacing the stocker, TFI set at 4.30-6-1-9. Open the throttle in 4th and 5th and hang on !

I got 38 mpg last weekend without the Caddman mod and TFI set at 3-6-1-9.

How many have changed their air intake?

Removed the entire intake, left the left side bare for now, and installed a Thunder Ram Air intake with the K&N filter, TFI and Cobra Slash Cuts. Setting of the TFI 3.30-6.0-1.0-9.0 . Only thing I have to get used to now is the increase in air volume noise going through the intake, makes for a much different noise than the muffled stock arrangement.
