Watch Your Speed On A Nomad!

WOO HOO!!!! Hubby let me switch bikes yesterday while out riding. I got to lead on the Nomad, while he rode behind on my 900. Honest to goodness...I was riding along and LOVING it and every time I would look in the mirror, hubby would get further and further behind!!!! I asked him (we use the Scala Q2 headsets) why he was slowing down.....he let me know that he wasn't slowing down, I was steadily speeding up!!!!! When I looked down, I was up to 80 MPH and I SWEAR I couldn't tell I was going that fast!!!! I'm sure alot of this is probably because I am used to the louder 900 with more vibrations at higher speeds, but I am SO impressed with how smooth the Nomad rides! It's like riding in a nice car....you cruise along and suddenly realize you are going 90 MPH but it feels like 50 MPH ;)

I can't wait to get my own Nomad!!!!!

Maybe you can be the first to get the new 1700 on KawaNOW. That would be cool.

Watch Your Speed On A Nomad!

I've recently moved from a vn900 to a nomad and I know exactly what your talking about. it rides so much smother and revs so little that if your on the road by yourself you often times don't realize how fast your going.

CONGRATULATIONS on your Nomad purchase!!!!!
I know you totally understand the difference then. The 900 sounds like it's struggling to stay at highway speeds and the Nomad glides along with no effort!

We're trying to hold out until we have hubby's Nad paid off before getting me one.....it's hard to be patient though.... :'(

but I am SO impressed with how smooth the Nomad rides!

Yep.

I stepped up from a Suzuki C50 (800 cc) for the same reason. Just smoother and more comfortable at highway speeds.

You should have been warned, tho.

Once you get the taste, you'll continue the craving!

My last bike was a Vulcan 800 Classic and the difference is huge. The Nomad is like an old Delta 88 with a 455. Not the fastest or the quickest, but a smooth lead sled that likes to cruise at a good clip comfortably.

I am also amazed at how easy I can lean into the turns. Since it is a heavier bike, I thought I would be afraid to lean into the turns. Somehow it felt more secure and stable than my 900 does!
