Passenger Floorboard with Pegs

I was looking closely at an HD recently and noticed that the passenger floorboards on that model (not sure what exactly it was) also had a peg set-up. It's kinda hard to describe unless you have seen it, but basically when you fold down the floorboard, there is another flatbar on the backside of the board with a peg that lays even with the rear edge of the board. You then fold that flatbar forward and it brings the peg to a position that is above and just forward of the floorboard.

I thought this was ingenious and was wondering if anyone here has tried to do something similar. With front Hwy pegs, we have a lot of different positions for our legs, but the wife only has one and her knees get sore on long rides (as does anyones who ride long distances without pegs).

I'm just looking for an alternative place for her to place her feet, so that she also has the ability to change positions. Maybe somebody has done something different, but any ideas would help.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to get one of those HD boards with the peg assembly to fit on a 1600 Nomad... :-/?

I've seen those - they flipped forward so the passenger and extend their legs. I think I've seen them on a GoldWing before, and also on a Harley.

Transformer passenger floorboards. I've only seen them for Goldwings though. Very cool.

My wife started having knee pain after I put the passenger floorboard extensions. She wants me to take them off for the trip to Custer. If I do, I'll sell them in Custer for a good price without shipping of course.

They are called transformer boards I put them on my goldwing but the wife never got to ride it after I put them on I thought they were cool.
I will look at my bike tomorrow and see if I think they will work I don't remember but I think I paid over $200.00 for them that is a lot of money if they don't work.

I'm also looking for something like that for my wife. Her cousin has a set on a road king and really likes the option to change positions of her legs on long trips. I've yet to find anything that will fit the Nomad.

I'd be curious to know the diameter of the pin holes and also the distance between them. I'm wondering if you could use the same pin off the Nomad and make some spacers of some sort. $200.00 plus is a good chunk of change if you can't make it work, but it sure would be cool if you could...!! Maybe I will send an email to Kuryakyn and see if I get a response.... :-/.

Here is a pic I got from Rich Lockyer on another forum. He oviously has cobra floorboards, but it might give you some ideas.

The pegs that I made before they were powdercoated:
http://personal.linkline.com/rlockye...n/DSC00601.JPG

It's 1/8" wall x 3/4" steel tubing welded to 1/4"x3/4" steel plate, with a piece of 1/4"x1" steel plate cut into a clevis and drilled for a Kury Magnum peg mount. Basic $22 pegs from the Harley dealer.

I drilled and tapped the Cobra floorboard mounts.

Utah, now you got my mind in motion. I think I'm going to the garage to see the possibilities that are there.

Netnorske Here is a picture of the ones on my wing but I still haven't had time to look at the Nomad to see what you would have to do, Hell if I can put Goldwing arm rest on a Nomad I should be able to put floor boards on. Jim
