I have the Tourmaster Defender rain gear. I am satisfied with it. Got it from Dennis Kirk. I used it on a 3000 mile trip last summer with no problems.

Tourmaster/ get the one with Nomax lower right leg so it doesn't weld to your pipes. frog toggs are good but not motorcycle gear and will fry on the pipes. good for fishing though. :-)

Just make sure the suit is large enough for you, your chaps and jacket

I have the Olympia AST Touring Jacket.
http://www.olympiamotosports.com/ast_mens/ast_mens.htm
And the Ranger 2 overpant
http://www.olympiamotosports.com/men...rangerpant.htm
This is a great multi function system---absolutely warm and waterproof--as tested by myself.

I find them to be of excellent quality and fit.

They are perfect especially is wet and really cold northern climates like Alberta

My suggestion.....BAG THE RAINGEAR! I have spent too many stops looking like a monkey humpin' a football trying to get that crap on! Go out and buy a nice textile waterproof coat (most of them are multisystem so you can wear them in any weather and zip down to mesh) and pants. I love the look of leather. I love the smell of it. But it just doesn't keep me as warm, and certainly isn't as versatile. I am a BELIEVER in textile! CAN I HAVE AN AMEN!

On a second note.... and not to steal the thread, but paul I noticed in your sig pix you have the corbin trunk. To my knowledge that goes on the 2000 and a couple of others, but not the Nomad. I emailed Corbin about that and their fairing but never recieved a reply. Can you PM me and let me know how you mounted it. I'm interested.

I agree with yridehd (nice) on the jackets.. I love mine, even though it's propbably on the cheaper end.. tourmaster. very versitle, very warm with the liner in. my only complaint is it has all the armor in it. So you put it on in the morning to start your ride and a few hour later the suns beatin down and dog gone it, there is just some times when a brother needs a farmers tan. My coat is so big, with the armor it's hard to store. on the 750 I was able to ball it up and use a cargo net on the seat behind me.. 2 up is another story.

Be sure the rain suit is breathable. Most suits covered in pvc are not. The wife has a First Gear mesh jacket and puts the rain liner out of a Joe Rocket mesh jacket under it for most warm light rains and it works OK. In storms she has a Sterns nylon breathable suit that packs down into a large pocket size. I have a First Gear rain coat and some Stearns pants but I hate the pants with only a short zipper in the legs. I intend to replace them this year. Also I would suggest a jacket with a hood, mine don't have one. In heavy rain put the hood under your helmet and it will help keep the water from running down your neck.

I have the Tourmaster Elite II raingear with the nomex panels on the lower legs. High quality and keeps me dry in steady rain. The only down side is that it's rather bulky. The top and pants take up about a fifth of the saddlebag.

I have the Frogg Toggs and the only thing I don't like about them is I wish the zipper on the legs were longer so I can fit my big boots through easer Also the Gadget web site tells you how to make them heat proof, I think I am going to try that on mine.

I got the rain gear that they use on the boats on Deadliest Catch. You will be dry and stand out as well.

I have the frogg toggs also and have only used them once. I pulled off, got all covered up, got back on the road and it turned away from the stupid storm. They pack up so nice that I will stick with them. And they were pretty reasonable

I wear a cortech 3/4 textile jacket all the time, rain or shine. Best cycle jacket I've ever had. It is waterproof, removable liner, vents etc. As far as wet weather pants goes I have rain pants from yrs ago that I use over my jeans.

I would have rather gotten a textile jacket, but they don't have them in my size. When I lose weight I'll have to treat myself to one.
