Clearview windshield

Has anyone here replaced their stock windshield with a Clearview? If so, did you order it with the optional vent? I'm just wondering if the vent provides much benefit, vs the $59.00 additional cost.

I ordered the 23.5" with top recurve. Very high quality windshield and fit perfect in the stock frame. Sorry, but I didn't order the Goldwing-style vent - didn't like the bulky look of it. I get plenty of air between the headlight housing and the bottom of the shield anyway.

I got the clearview on my Nomad. It is bigger than stock and has a lip at top to throw air over you. I didn't get the vent either. If I was living in Arizona ;) I would probably have gotten the vent.
I have no space between the headlight and the bottom of the shield. You use your OEM mounting hardware, that includes the sliding part of the shield. The one I got is 22" from headlight cutout to top of shield and is 29" wide at its widest part.
I bought mine as a blem from a guy on Ebay. He said it had a 1/8" long scratch on the upper left . If he hadn't marked it I would have never been able to find it when it was delivered. It was $75 off for the scratch
They say you can install the shield and ride with it if you don't take off the clear plastic protective covering. If you don't like it, send it back for full refund.
I started to do that but it was such a pain in the butt to transfer all the stock mounting brackets and hardware by myself, I said to heck with it and just removed the plastic and installed it ONCE.
Two people would be much easier to do.
Here is a pic of mine. I painted the bottom section black, it dosen't come that way.
Oh yeah, I got a very light grey tint.

I don't know if the vent would be that great during the summer in AZ. Maybe this time of year, but the last thing you'd want is 110 degree air blowing on you in June. If you've never experienced it, it's like standing in front of a hot oven with the door open. Maybe the vent would help clear out the radiant heat coming up off the engine and tank, though. I am hoping someone has a vent and can tell me if it's worth it or not.

I got mine just last week. It's the 19.5 inch with the vent. I love it. The vent doesn't block any vision. The shield doesn't have any funny optical effects even with the recurve.

Here's a link with pics of the clearview on a Nomad - scroll about 1/2 way down. I can't do pics any better than this:

I got one of the Clearviews this past Fall. Got the light gray tint, but without the vent. Thicker windshield than stock and the optics are super clear, no distortion.
