WOW tax breaks

So I heard this morning that they finally agreed on a stimulus bill. Woopidy doo. It was reported that the included tax breaks work out to $400 per taxpayer.

That works out to 54billion out of the 790 billion they are proposing.

What a f**king joke.

Oh, I forgot to mention that it isn't designed to come in a check like the one last year. It will be reflected on your paycheck. The report I read said it works out to about $13/week. Wow, if gas prices hold that means I can (almost) fill up my nomad once on uncle sam each week.

I have absolutely zero confidence in the ability of the Federal Government to fix the situation the country is in. I don't mean that as a shot against Obama. I don't care who is in the big chair, it ain't going to get done. The people who put us in this predicament are not going to be the ones to get us out of it.

They give away billions to banks and corporations with a lack of accountability and little oversight. The "stimulus" package is nearly a trillion bucks worth of pork.

No, I don't know what the answer is, but I have a hunch this isn't going to be it.

California now has a tentative budget. Increased income tax surcharge 2%. Gas tax increase 12 cents per gallon. Sales tax increase 1 cent (will now be 9.5%). Remove 2 paid holidays and furlough all state employees 2 days a month or 9.5% pay cut. Arnold's going out with a bang!!!! Illegal immigrants will still get all their free health, education and other benefits across the board! Octomom's 14 kids will still be paid by the taxpayers.

The state Legislators have sued to protect their pay and status because they are "elected" officials and deemed exempt from the cuts!! This is going beyond socialism and moving in on communism. I won't be retiring in California....for damn sure!!

According to the government its my grandkids' money. Did I mention that my children are only 1 and 2 years old? That is a long term debt for a short term fix if you ask me. If we are going to stretch it out that far it damn well better work.

I could give a sh*t less about the tax breaks and rebates myself as I am still fortunate to have a damn good job and so does my wife but there are alot of people that are very bad off that will need alot more than just a new job to get their heads above water.

I read what little detail I could find on the bill.

I do not think we need the bill.....let the economy correct itself. Yes it would hurt in short term but then it would motivate us to change all of our (us the consumer who borrows/spends too much as well as the local + fed government) bad spending habits. We continue to put band aids on and never cure the cause (we spend + borrow too much!). We are killing our kids futures.

But since I don't have a say and lawmakers are quick to act like they need to do something so they can get re elected...I understand the need for them to create a bill.

Unfortunately, in typical bureaucratic attorney driven political style....they made it too complex.

They did not need 75% of what was in there. What good is giving $250 (one time) to a soc serc recipient going to do long term? Why increase food stamps by less than $20 a month. If you create jobs you don't need to extend or increase welfare or employment benefits. If they were going to stimulate anything do it right. Keep it simple and focused.

Spend all the money on job creation (infrastucture, tax breaks to companies based on how many jobs they add, tax break...or even subsidy to creation of "green" jobs within the solar/wind industry).

If you create the jobs...the rest will take care of itself.

Very Interesting Quote:
In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802 :

Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing
armies . If the American people ever allow private banks to control the
issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks
and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people
of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

This is long I hope you will excuse me.

Here is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around.
I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during The Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover
ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens
in order to make jobs available to American citizens
that desperately needed work.

Harry Truman deported over two million Illegals after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.

And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexican nationals!
The program was called 'Operation Wetback'
so that American WWII and Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took 2 Years, but they deported them!
Now, if they could deport the illegals back then, they can sure do it today if you have doubts about this:
http://www.pbs.org/kpbs/theborder/hi...meline/20.html
Reminder.
Don't forget to pay your taxes...
21 million Illegal Aliens are depending on you.

When we live in a society that punishes people if they own a object that looks like another object, but isn't the latter object, then it is more like that society will deport us and import illegals..

Unless of course "We the people" demand our Rights and not only show, but prove beyond any doubt that it is We who are in controll of the Govt.

At every turn the Rights of the illegals and criminals some how out weigh those who are here and have been here abiding the LAW.

The system has lost any meaning. The Govt is not important, the People are. This is the Jeffersonian Nightmare.

To fix it we can wait and see, we can allow this hype and spin fix which will likely end nothing and just make things worse, and or if somehow more than 51% of the people would stand up and say no more probably refusing to pay fedral taxes, all of this would end.

The only other way is a revolt with violence. I am not promoting any violence.

If the Govt was a bad old and tired Nuke Plant we would shut it down and build another new one.

My 34 yr old son was a loyal Ron Paul supporter. He loaned me the book Dr. Paul wrote a couple of years ago. I didn't really care to read it but I took the time just to make my son happy. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. Everything that is happening now he predicted in his book. Nearly verbatim. This guy had a good plan but the questions the media asked him made him look like a fool when he tried to answer them honestly. This guy is very sharp. He wanted to bring home the many thousands of troops from Germany, South Korea, Iraq, etc. and discontinue the pork spending and much of the foreign aid. Too bad that the congress and senate would have never agreed with him. I really think his plan would have worked. If you stop and think about it, if they solve the economical and social security problems, what will they campaign on next time? It's a fiasco that we and our kids and grandkids will be financing for eternity.

The stimulus bill is the biggest waste of taxpayer money in history. They (Dems and Obama) want it passed quickly before people actually have time to find out what is in it. And no...you won't find out what's in it by watching your liberal loving evening news networks either.... :(" title="" border="0"/>!

There is so much pork attached to this thing that we will never be able to pay it down. If you listen to Obama....doing nothing will mean the end of our country and economy all together. Really? Haven't we pulled out of this stuff before? Sure there have been hard times...but we always pull through.

Wasteful Government spending is not the answer. What really pisses me off is that the Barney Franks of the world originally caused this whole mess by insisting that anyone who wanted a house should have one....regardless of whether or not they could afford it.

The Dems forced Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae to begin issuing the whole sub-prime loan market so that EVERYONE could own a home. Guess what.....now the original sinners have become the inquisitors and touting that they have the answers to get us out of this economic disaster, all while pointing the finger at their conservative counterparts. Really?

At least when it fails they will have nobody left to point the finger at. Fiscal responsibility is everyones duty....especially those in charge of our hard earned tax dollars. There are so many non-stimulus items attached to the bill that any elected official who votes for it should be publicly tarred and feathered.

I'm not saying the Fed shouldn't do SOMETHING....this just ain't it. Let the strong survive and the weak and mismanaged weed themselves out. While that would certainly lead to some rough times and hurt a fair number of people, ultimately, we would be a stronger Nation economically for it.

I much prefer to see Capitalism in our society survive than see our Nation turned into one of Socialism and Goverment handouts. People who work hard and are successful should enjoy every benefit that comes along with that. That's called the American Dream....and people have been striving for that for over 200 years. That might all be a distant memory in the very near future... :-/
