Big day tomorrow

I am some excited right now, and I don't know if this qualifies as an event, but I went today and bought a 2 day permit for the Nomad for tomorrow and Friday. The weather is suppose to be decent with some sun and a few clouds. I have finished the complete install of the double "Cadmann Kit", put the TFI in and roughed in the settings, and finished the cruise control. So I'm stoked to see how everything runs, operates and performs. I'll be back with my report and probably some questions if there are issues with anything. But keep your fingers crossed for me that all that will be needed is a tweak of the TFI, if anything. :)

Good luck on the ride. What is a two day permit? Never heard of that before.

My insurance is two fold. One part is a compulsory basic insurance package you purchase from the Provincial Government. The other part is {by my choice} covered by a private carrier. It's cheaper that way for me. Our rates are very expensive. If I were to purchase a complete package through the Provincial Gov't for my bike, it would cost me over $1200 for the year. Or,...about $700-$800 per 6 months or for the riding season here. The way I do it saves me approx. $200. But this permit thing is where you can buy 1 day of insurance, or 2 days or 3 days, or what ever you want, at a time, from the Gov't. and have your private insurance activated for those days you've got the permit for. So if the weather forcast is for a day or two of sun, for $40.00 I can insure my bike for those two days. Does that make any sense?

But you're not far off BD I am starting to climb the garage walls, working on the bike and not being able to ride.......Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Ya,...let me outta' here!!!!!

I agree BD, I was wondering if you get a jar of KY jelly and a cigarette after the government is through with you.

I know what you mean. Other Provinces have total private insurance but not here. I'm not convinced that with private insurance it would be any cheaper. It certainly would be a lot more expensive for the "kids". They would probably hit the bikers hard because they'd figure us to be a big risk given the idiots that are out there in their cars. I swear they don't even look for us on the road.

So my "test drive day" is here, and I feel like the groundhog who just saw his shadow. It snowed last night!! :( It's gone this morning
{11:00 AM} but the streets are all wet. Oh well I have to check out the cruise control. I have tomorrow to play with the TFI if I choose.
I'll check back later.

Big day tomorrow

Hi to all, thanks for your encouragement today,.....it turned out to be pretty nice today. The sun came out with a few clouds hanging around but generally speaking, not bad for Feb. 12th. It was about 7C. or for my American Bro.'s...44-45 F.
It was good news all around. I got a shock right as soon as I pulled out on the road and cracked open the throttle. What a difference the double Caddmann and TFI made. Oh and the sound!!! Fantastic. I took the long way to the hwy. and couldn't keep from opening it up to feel the power
When I pulled out on to the 401 Hwy. I was one happy guy. Then it was time to check what I was most concerned about. The cruise control. Even knowing I had "done everything by the book" I was a little doubtful it was going to work, because I'd tried it while I had it on the stand and it ddn't work, and then when I tried it at low speed within the complex where I live, it still didn't work. But when I hit the hwy and was steady at about 100 kmh I clicked the cruise on and set the speed to find out ........

Ha ha ha ....had to make you wait.
I found out that it worked just great !! Now if you could have seen the smile I'm sure it was definitely ear to ear. At least that's what it felt like. The face was sore by the time I stopped the first time.
So that was a great start to what ended up being an even greater day after riding for a total of about 4 - 41/2 hrs. Stopping to tweak the TFI a couple of times. I haven't checked the plugs yet but I will tomorrow before I head out for another day of riding. I'm sure glad I got the two day permit now.

Way to go Ricky! I never doubted that your cruise control would work. But I must say that just like you I had my doubts that mine would work until I actually got the chance to try it.

You're going to love it!!!!!!

Now I have to go rob a bank or something so that I can get a TFI, Vance and Hines, etc, etc. . .
