Just a reminder to those of you that take your bikes out after snow or ice to be careful of the sand and salt left over on the roads. Watch those corners and intersections and bridges. Keep the shiny side up.

Yep, good reminder.
The only accident I ever had was caused by sand on the roads during a February ride in 1978. Take care!

Remind me in a month or two.

Sand, gravel, and ice on paved surfaces have caused me to become intimate with pavement a couple of times too.

Good one Chainsaw.

Riding around here this time of year my eyes are pealed for the stuff, probably the highest risk factor there is just now.

Good advise. Unfortunately, except for salt, I deal with the sand/gravel and potholes year round where I live. Chesapeake, Ohio is on the southern tip of Ohio, just across the river from Huntington, WV and Ashland, Ky. These roads in my area are constantly in need of repair, and anytime we've had a rain, I can always count on more sand and gravels on the roadways than usual. Maybe it's just me, but when I look ahead, I am also looking at the road surface to. Maybe a good habit to have.

It will mostly be potholes around here this year. The roads have just been destroyed this winter.
