I did one of those motorcycle insurance quotes online. At the bottom of the info page was a box for comments ... Here is the comment I made ...

"I have been riding continuously for 41 and a half years. I have never made a claim for a motorcycle in that time. My motorcycles are in top notch repair at all times. I am a cash cow to you Ins. company's. After 41 years of paying in ... How about a break for a change."

... Think they might get the idea I think they are rat bassturds ... But said it in a nice way in hopes of a better deal ...

BTW ... I am waiting for a reply ... When I hit the send button ... A window opens to say an agent will phone shortly. If they can beat my current Ins. Co. ... I'll be happy ... in a general mad still ripped off kind of way. LOL

I like it! I have the same driving record (just not as long), and I cringe when I think how much money insurance companies have made off of me. Good for you!

I've been with State Farm for years, car and auto.

Geico quoted me less for a year than State Farm quoted me for six months.

No idea how Geico handles claims, tho. State Farm has been excellent.

Had one accident in 30 years and some hurricane damage to the house and to the car.

I went with progressive, I have state farm on everything else, but they just dont want to be in the motorcycle market at least on cruisers, they are more competitive on sportbikes

I happen to be using Allstate for all my insurance; thus my motorcycle insurance is extremely inexpensive.

I couldn't imagine anyone would have it for much less. Maybe I should look around though.

I know someone mentioned Geico (sp?). A friend of mine has their insurance and said that their claims service was just fine -- he had absolutely no problem with it. If they are half-price then I might check into it.

State Farm gave me a quote that was 3X more than the next closest one when I got my C50 back in 2005. I called the agent just to make sure it wasn't a mistake and he said it was not. I had four cars, two trailers, house, and two life insurance policies with them and it made no difference. I've been with Markel American since then and, knock on wood, have had good service the one time I had to use them.

I was with an outfit called Foremost when I first got the Honda. Prices there were 100.00/year - liability only, and 129.00/year for the Nomad - liability only.

Then, switched over to Progressive for the Honda as it was the first to expire. Cost for twice the limits, uninsured motorist, and theft/damage is less than 300.00/year. I will be changing to Progressive for the Nomad Monday as it expires next week.

Saved a ton on Auto ins. as well. Something like 1200.00 a year (while doubling the coverage), but that involved a move to another county, as well as changing companies.

SHOP! SHOP! SHOP! IT IS WORTH IT.

I went with Progressive. All the others were 3X more expensive. Geico was really outrageous.

A co-worker just figured out he could save $2000 a year switching from Allstate to MetLife (plan offered through our employer). His quote from Progressive was almost as cheap as MetLife and he was going to go with Progressive, but since MetLife is an employee benefit, there were some extra discounts and perks.

Just don't buy any.......post a bond and self insure yourself and then all your personal assets can be at risk if you ever are at fault in an accident...and even if you aren't at fault....you can then pay for your own defense when sued and not have to deal with the rat bassturds. Easy enough solution if you ask me.

Has anyone checked on bike rental insurance? I know with a car, if you're already insured yourself, you are probably insured when you rent a car, too.

I had been toying with renting a couple of bikes before I decided to buy the Nomad and saw the rental companies want a bunch of insurance on top of the rental fees, so I asked State Farm if my bike insurance covered rentals.

Even the agent said "I don't see why not" but she checked to be sure and State Farm does NOT cover rentals.

Has anyone else checked with their insurance companies?
