Question for the electrical geniuses

My 07 1600 Nomad has halegon H3 35w driving lights. Recently one of the bulbs burned out. I couldn't find a 35w, so I replaced both with 55w bulbs. The driving lights are connected to its own 10a fuse (well it shares it with my GPS). So, is my bike going to explode?

Question for the electrical geniuses

It should be fine......Mine is.
I'm running the driving lights with 2 55watt bulbs from the accessary circiut in the headlight bucket with a relay .... It also powers my GPS.
Also running a 80/100 watt bulb for the headlight.

No blowing up yet and no electrical problems at all. 10,000 miles on this bike and about 45,000 miles on the 900 ClassicLT I had previously.

Question for the electrical geniuses

No, it shouldn't blow up. Here's how you can tell if you are using a big enough fuse, though...

((55 x 2) / 13.5) = 8.2 v

Wattage divided by voltage = current draw (in amps).

13.5 is the approximate output voltage of your electrical system. You have a 10a fuse, so you should be okay.

OK Cactus......He said he had a 10amp fuse ....as I do on my Nomad and on my 900..
First you say "no it shouldn't"...then at the end of your post you say it should be.
I have not blow any fuses yet on my Nomad and I never blew the fuses on the 900......
What's it gonna be.....LOL

Sorry, I meant "no, it shouldn't blow up on him". I wasn't disagreeing with you. I amended my reply to clarify my assertion.
