Marines Play Dumb
The United States Marines like to claim that they began on November 10, 1775, but there is proof that the Marines are actually a lot older than that. There has been quite a bit of evidence that the Marines are, in fact, the oldest of the military branches. Some of the evidence even points to the Roman Legionaries. Actually, evidence points not only to the Legionaries, but more specifically to a particular platoon within the elite Roman division. The platoon in question was the same squad that guarded the tomb of Christ on Easter Sunday. It is thought that Jesus rose from the dead, looked to the military detachment and said, “Shhh! Play dumb until I get back.” And they have done so ever since. |
