Chuckster's Risers installed

Finally got my risers installed.
Thanks Chuckster!!
Have any of you that have risers noticed that your bars vibrate more? I know the longer the rod the more the vibration will resonate through it. Has anyone come up with a solution. I am considering weighted bar ends.

Hi, I installed Chuck's risers yesterday and must say I did not notice more vibration (but I also have Küryakyn grips that have more cushioning than the stock grips). All I know is that the ride is SOOO much more comfy now, I am leaning back against my backrest, no more reaching forward at all.

Yes, I noticed this same phenomena after installing Chuckster's risers. I think any device that increases the distance of the bar end from the mass (triple tree) would result in the same effect.

I've heard people filling up the bars with sand and even concrete and they said it helped with the vibration a lot. Not sure if I wanted to do that but I'm just saying ... ;)

Yeah I don't think I would go that far but perhaps put weights in the bar ends.

Yeah , mine vibrate more. Only thing that bothers me is the mirrors vibrate more also. I have to grip the bar real hard to stop the shaking to see if it is the police behind me
The 3" Chucksters didn't bring the bars back as much as I wanted so it looks like Phat 2,s or Aeromach next year.

I notice more going over bumps than just going down the road. Should weld up a solid set of bars.

I also read where bb's in the handlebars worked their way into someone's handlebar switches and played hell with the electricals. Maybe fill up some vinyl tubing, seal the ends and slip them in, don't put them in loose - you're asking for trouble!

Man that is a great idea, and cheap too. I may look into that.

I went with the Phat II's and have noticed relatively little difference in vibration with the exception of when the bike is at idle with no one on it. The ends might vibe a very slight bit then, but I don't notice it at all when riding.

The comfort factor of those things is huge.... ....and eliminates having to reach forward for the bars. Notice in my signature photo I am leaning backwards and am able to reach the bars easily!

A couple things to make note of:

When installing the Phat II's, the brake hose will be your biggest concern. You will likely want to move your brake housing up the handlebar about 3/4" (until there is no slack in the brake light wire). This will give you more slack for your front brake hose.

This then lead me to a different challenge when installing my Brakeaway throttle lock (not cruise control).

When installing the Brakeaway, part of the support structure is to attach it to the bottom of the brake pivot bolt. By moving the brake housing for the riser install (notice the gap between the throttle and brake housing), I then needed to go get a longer machine screw (10/32 x 2) to make it reach (see photo).

In order for the brake release cam to operate properly, that new machine screw needed to be right up against the bottom of the brake pivot nut, hence the extra length. The bonus though was added adjustment to help make it just right!

Hope this helps....

Cheers....Kris
