Installing a Speedo Healer???

Has anyone here done it themself? Or, did you have it installed for you? I've purchased one and glancing through the instructions seemed a bit intimidating, which got me to thinking if I should tackle this thing or not.

Thanks,
Daryl

Installing a Speedo Healer???

I know that there is a recent thread about the speedo healer and some of the guys installed their own. I'm not sure if they put exact details, but I do recall that their were some opinions about installation.

Installing a Speedo Healer???

Hey Daryl, does this mean that I should quit waiting for your post on how easy the installation was and how much you like the results?

Installing a Speedo Healer???

I put my speedo healer on about 2 years ago. You do need to take off the floor board and shifter from the left side. After that, it is just making the connection to the right sets of wires inside. Thread the wire from the unit that I placed behind the cover on the left side where the tools are at. Also put the wire in a piece of black wire loom and zip tied it to the factory one that is there. Looks like it was done at the factory. After you get it installed, you need to go out and get some speeds. You take those numbers and work the equation to figure out which dip switch to toggle at the right time and you are done. I think you can get the equation off the speedo healer web site if it did not come with the unit. Also on Gadget's page you can see how to take the left cover off and how to connect the wire harness. Piece of cake. Took me longer to get the different speed settings then doing the install. Remember this, if you are being followed by a car or truck or other bike, that speedometer may also be off. The best way to get your various speed numbers is to use a GPS unit. I used a truck following me. So I am off just a tad right now.

Hope things work out for you.
