Baffectomy work on a 1500 classic?

I got asked this question on another forum:
"I have a 2008 Vulcan 1500 Classic .
Do you think the pipes are built the same way that yours are? I am very interested in doing the same thing. My bike is very quiet almost too quiet."

Anyone know the answer? ???

A buddy of mine just bought a 2008 Vulcan 800 LT. I don't know if that is considered a Classic model or not. If it is then the pipes aren't even close to what our Nomads are.

Well before I could get back to the guy with an answer, he couldn't wait and did it. He says the silencers came right out and he loves the sound, he is happy. Guy has more guts than me, I would've never attempted without very good recommendations.

Jeff, you'll find lots of "opinions" on what you can an can't do here in the "Garage". Most of the things I've done, and they are numerous including the bafflectomy have been met with why it won't work why or I/we shouldn't do it. I haven't regretted one thing I've done yet!!

You friend probably looked at the end of his pipes and saw enough simularity to go for it!! A true engineer's mind at work!!

Just glad it worked out for him and he likes the sound. Seen too many hole saw's on other bikes that really sound terrible.

Well there was that episode when you got drunk with the one-legged exotic dancer and the blind pony?

But I've destroyed the negatives, so don't worry. ;)
