Air Hogs Cushions

Toying with the idea of adding an Air Hogs OR sheepskin buttpad to stock seat before I bite off a new seat. Trying to prevent numb butt syndrome(NBS). Any comments on the Air Hogs OR Sheepskin pads would be appreciated. Thanks

How about you eatin' something so you'll have a butt and won't need extra padding? Skinny fart!

Air Hogs Cushions

Air Hogs is a new one on me. I have air Hawks on mine; and won't ever be without them again!! I have a stock seat, tried gel pads, foam pads, nothing seemed to help till I got these. I live in north georgia, and recently took a trip to wy, sd, etc, and back, and each day, I would get off the bike tired from the long ride; but WITHOUT a butt-ache!!
just my 2cents worth

I borrowed a Air Hawk pad for my Nomad before getting the Russells Saddle. It actually worked really well...much better than the stock seat. The Nomad is such a sweet looking bike, really the best looking touring cruiser out there! For me the Air hawk looked like crap. To buy one was $175, then I would worry about someone stealing it, so I put it in my saddlebag depending on where I was. Hassle!
When I told my wife I wanted to spend $700 on a seat she hit the roof. But I don't ask for much and she and the kids have a good life, So when we took out a home equity loan to re-do my driveway, I made sure there was enough to buy the Saddle I really wanted!

Damn Bob, here i go with a home mortage note like you. Im trying to settle for less on an Air Hawk if it works but would love a Russels seat also. the only thing to me it looks like the Russels seat is wide in all the pics ,,,, does this make you have to spread legs wide at lights?? i'm 5'10", Thx

just bought an airhawk and still trying to get the right amount of air for comfort. full inflation elevates the seat level quite a bit, really didn't like this. I'll know more whether it works next week - got a long trip ahead of me this weekend. this cushion better work. i'll give you my report when I get back.

For $150 you could eat at Golden Corral a lot and not need to buy a padded seat.

The airhawk takes very little air...just enough to conform to your butt. You'll think there's not enough in it...but try it...just enough air to take care of the hot spots.
On the Russells seat it's narrow in the front and they custom build it to your butt. They had to widen my seat by 2" in the rear and 0" in the front. I know it's a lot of money but me and mamma are very happy. Risers are next.

I had the gel pad installed in my mustang seat. When i got it back i was wondering if it was going to help since it didn't feel much different. The first long ride i went on with it was 330 miles. I would have had a tough time without that gel pad. So first impression is this might be money well spent. i have only went on one long ride with it so far. Took it to an uhpolstery shop & it cost 150 for pad & install.
