Voyager front fender removal...remove wheel?

So just to stop me actually undoing the four bolts and then getting stuck can anybody confirm I do indeed have to take off the whole wheel and associated bits...? I simply wanted to mount the fender trim chrome piece but read that the fender will not come out of the gap.
Thanks guys.

I cannot speak directly to the VOYAGER, however, on the VAQUERO the fender will come off with the wheel on and the bike on the ground. Wheel turned all the way right or left of course. The fender goes "out the back" and "in from behind".

Hope that helps,
Smokier

Many thanks Smokier. I have not pulled yet but seems I will not be able to get torque wrench in when tightening. Not much to pull so hope to be fine.

Colonel you will not need a torque wrench for the front fender bolts, just get a box end or open end wrench in there and tighten them down real snugly they will be fine.

A little Loctite is also a welcomed addition, anything that goes down the road on 2 or 3 wheels, this is advantageous.....

You guys are so goood! I have used the blue medium type. Figure it is just the right stuff and snugged them down. By the by the actual fender guard looks pretty but the bolts and threads were crap. Never checked the bolt fit first - DUH! Had to go and buy my own stainless ones to actually fit. By the time I had it off and installing I was not about to send it back.
