Windshield Bolt Problems
Hi All,
Seems like everyday I have a new question to ask. I think I've got a serious problem with my windshield bolts. I was going to adjust my windshield down this evening and clean the bugs off of it. The top bolts loosened OK, but the lower bolts are hosed, I think. The right side one is frozen in place. I could not budge it at all, and to make matters worse, I spun the hex wrench in the head and wallowed the flats out. I am so PO'd at myself right now. I got the left side lower bolt loosened a little and was able to slide the shield down, and tightened the two upper ones, but I can't get the lower left one to snug up now. I'm afraid to lean on it any more or it will end up like the other one. I am wondering if they were cross-threaded when they were installed. I went to the local Ace Hardware and got a couple more bolts to replace them, but I can't figure out how to get them out now without scratching up the mount. I don't even think I can grab them with a Vise-Grip and turn them. So ticked off that I've screwed up my brand new bike! ![]() ![]() Login or Register to Remove Ads |
