Tire Time Again
Just three months shy of two years and 14500 miles later the rear is losing air.
I haven't checked yet as to why, but I ordered a replacement set. So the Shinko 777 went 14500 on the rear before giving up. It still has a small bit of tread left, very small. Since the front has started cupping, I went ahead and ordered both. MT

Tires
I'm just putting tires on my bike too. What I need to know is what tool is required to remove the front wheel? Is that a 24 mm Allen tool?

I used the spark plug wrench that came in the tool kit.

You just going to tease us or can you give a hint where you got them at the price?

Chapperal is having a sale on Shinko 777's right now. I could get a front and back for the cost of one Mic Com 2 rear tire but they don't have it in my size. 14.5K huh? Thats pretty good for a rear M/C tire.

Usually you get what you pay for, but that's really good mileage for that kind of money. As long as they handle well. Makes you wonder how they make them for that price .

My Shinko arrived last week, hopefully I'll put it on this weekend and see how it lasts.
They are priced a lot better than any other tire. I payed $124.00 shipped for the front tire.

I Got a Bridgestone 180/70/16 Radial Excedra Max rear for $143 and a Dunlop 404 radial 130/90/16 front for $121 delivered free from Motorcycle Superstore a week ago for the Nomad. Also got a set of Bridgestone Radials for the Wing for $274 so they had a hell of a sale going on.

It seems a lot of the on-line M/C parts stores are having tire sales right now. Chaperal, Rocky Mountain ATV, Dennis Kirk. I wonder why? Rocky Mountains got my 180/65-16 Mic Com 2 priced about $30 under normal. I'm not even close to needing one yet but am tempted to buy it and put it away for later.
