Cobra Tri oval

I found an easy way to make my tri ovals little louder at idle and when u twist that throtlle.

1st remove all screws retaining the end cap and the baffle in place.

2nd make a hook out of steel and insert it in one of the baffle hole and pull hard and the baffle comes out. The right side was easy but the left side had to make a home made puller to get it out.

3rd find a 30 inch pointed pry bar and make a 3/4 inch hole inside the muffler end cap which is all the way inside deep ... u will need a good flashlight to see what I'm talking a bout.

Then re-insert baffles and mounting screws and ur done.

This modification will certainly reduce the amount of gases trap inside and ignite on decel as they are commonly talked about to do that.

Enjoy

Does it make them any louder going down the road? Have you noticed any drop in low end torque?

I'm bettin this will improve power all the way thru the rpm range as the Tri-Ovals are more restrictive than V&H s/ons which make more torque and power than the Tri-Ovals. That inner end cap prevents the t/ovals from being a truly straight-thru design, removing that cap from the first baffle is a good idea.

First time I had a set of t/ovals apart I was trying to figure how to get waaay down inside to remove that cap, ultimately the owner did not want the exhaust sound to be louder as he liked their sound as is and I have not pursued it any further.

GOOD IDEA!!!
