engine guard chaps for my 08 nomad 1600

Will the engine guard chaps for a Vulcan 1500 fit the engine guards on an 08 Nomad 1600?

They should. A friend of mine traded his 1600 for Voyager and so I got his chaps to fit my 1500

According to kawa engine guard model numbers, they are different. I researched all models and wrote them down to see how many models I could make work with one set of chaps when I started producing them. That doesn't mean that you can't make them work for you. Its worth trying. I can give you some pointers if they don't work on first try. It may take a sewing machine, or I could even alter them for you if there's enough material

Kawasaki will have the same part for a different model and give it a different part number.

True. That's why I said for him to try it. However, 1500 and 1600 nomad engine guards have different model numbers and are different shapes. Same for 1600 vs 1700 shapes. 1500 are bigger than 1600, and 1600 are bigger than 1700. You can probably use a 1500 chap on a 1600 bike, but putting a 1600 chap on a 1500 PROBABLY wouldn't work. I've never tried because the engine guard shapes are different. You don't have anything to lose trying though. Give it a shot.

engine guard chaps for my 1600 Nomad

Thanks to all for your replies, I did note that the engine guards looked different between the 1500 & 1600 so I will begin my search to find some 1600 engine guard chaps.

FYI...I make 1600 engine guard chaps. I've sold dozens to forum members. I'd be happy to make some for you if interested. If not, I hope you find what you're looking for, and good luck.

Interesting this thread came up (I just saw it) I've been considering some kind of wind blocker that I could shape for better aerodynamics and had thought about a pair made of thin sheet metal with a slight horizontal brake in the center. I often wish I still worked in metal fabrication and had access to the machines and welding gear.

Homemade fork lowers and engine guard panels. I have PDF patterns if you want a set - just PM me your email address and I'll send them to you.

BigRat, those are some badass industrial design looking lowers and chaps(?)!! I like the diamond plate. Are they aluminum? I've gone so far as making cardboard patterns for a pair, but had not considered diamond plate.

Yep - cut from an old piece laying around. Did the bend over the edge of a bullnose counter, cut with a jigsaw and attached the engine guard chaps with vinyl coated pipe clamps. Painted with self-etching primer and textured black paint
