It works every time, Ive never seen anyone get caught yet. Boots with good traction are the key to a quick getaway.

Well at least you don't see any of those droopy pants criminals trying to get away up here in the winter. Even they are smart enough to wear pants that won't fall down when it's cold.

Last week a cop with a 4x4 got stuck in the ditch...I guess everyone kept going. The location was hwy 63 which has total wilderness for 300km. It was snowing heavily and his right steering tire got caught in the snow drift and it sucked him in. I pulled over with the ram, had a chat and pulled him out. He really appreciated it, took my name, I think I got a get out of jail card from him...lol.

Bdog,

Let me say Thank you! It's nice when people stop and offer help in situations like this. Don't worry! I am sure he told all of his fellow officers how you were willing to help! I know I would have. I've been in his shoes at work. This is why it is so important as an officer to treat everyone as you would like to be treated. You never know when the one you just arrested last week will be the only one who stops to help you. I've had my share of guys who were pissed because they were going to jail, but I've also had those who have thanked me as I left the booking area for being the way I am. Bottom line, remember the golden rule!

John,
A friend of mine was in charge of the RCMP detachment in Boyle for a couple of years and patrolled Hwy 63 regularly. I think that he was very happy to take his retirement and leave that all behind him. Far too many times he and his members would be dispatched to attend to some tragedy on that stretch of highway.
