I used the Avon Contour. Love the grips. Great fit, comfortable, and they get plenty hot. The only drawback is that I haven't permanently mounted the switch yet. Still deciding whether I want it in the fairing or on the bar. It's designed to clamp around the bar but with the Vaquero there isn't any easy way to do that due to the controls there and the clamp is too small for the bar.

I picked mine up at Powersportsuperstore.com.

Last winter I used Oxford heated grip wraps (hothands I believe) - they are available for about $60 and they are wraps that go over your existing grips - they heat up very nicely, are easy to install and easy to remove in the spring. These are them:

I now have a set of Avon Air 90 Chrome ones enroute to me after having the RacinRay throttle mod done to them - I can't wait to put them on - The Oxfords were great to have in the winter, but I went on a couple of spring and fall rides that I wished I mounted them back on, but hadn't yet - so now I will have the heat there whenever I need it. Unless you are lucky enough to find a steal like I did on eBay, the best price on these I found is on Amazon.

I'm guessing that heated grips mean you can wear gloves that are far less substantial than the one I'm riding with. That would be great. Heating on the palms and fingers must help heat the rest of the inside of the gloves, yes? I may break down and buy some heated grips for this winter.

I use my heated grips under 45 or 50. Even down to the 20s, the only parts of my hands that get cold are my finger tips. Not sure how to fix that as even heated gloves don't really cover the tips very well.

I have the Heat Demons as well. They do help somewhat but not as much heat as I was expecting. Pretty much have to have them on the highest setting to really feel the heat.

However, I also have the Kuryakyn grips and because they are not a solid grip but have the open cavities for the cushion effect, that may be why I'm not getting the heat that I expected. Thinking about switching to the Avon grips and seeing if that makes a difference.
