New Tire

Got the Metzler ME880 mounted for bought and mounted for 254.00 at the BMW shop here in town. the Kawa shop wanted close to 400 dollars. I don't know if its common for BMW shops to charge less but its worth shopping around.

That included taking the wheel off the bike too? If so I'd say you got a real deal. They charged you less than $100 for tax & labor.

I ordered my front tire from American Motorcycle Tire for $122 which included tax and shipping. I took it to Ron Ayers Motorsports and they installed it for $51 and some change out the door.

That's it my prices just went up big time. I have been doing tire changes and balancing for a case of Busch Light. That is if you bring me the tire and wheel, not taking it off the bike.

Mac,,
Phil is in NorthPort Maine.. ALL I did was pull my bags and dropped the bike off a day in advance, I left it for 2 days I was in no rush and it was raining all week....I usually leave it the night before and pick up the next day...... BUT yea he grease the Final Drive, did a LOOK over, checked the breaks,Pulled the Tires,Mounted and balanced and he reinstalled the tires.. I do about 13/17k a year on my bikes.I had 2 rears and 1 front on my Sabre,, just got the Nad and First set of Metzs.so in 4 years I got 3 Metz Rears and 2 fronts,He takes care of regular customers ..PLUS I gave him a Shop Manual for the Sabre and 1 for the Nomad,,,so the goodies I GAVE him SAVE me $$$ ::)..Too bad hes too far away from you... OFF thread, KEEP a eye open for my NH Get Together ,Sept/Oct..............Rich

Radco, Well you got a good deal for tires, parts, and labor... It might not be too far for me, but there is a few other things I like done when the rear end is down. What got me is that it will cost me that much for just parts, unless I run a car tire on the rear.

Currently I am weighing that option. I wasn't fot it at all before, but with so many reports I have become interested in the idea. Not only that, but I was looking hard at my dead stone today, and all worn out it has a similar profile to a car tire now.

I am sort of hoping we can meet up sometime in good weather, as I haven't forgotten about letting you see the Nomad modified somewhat. I see your headed to Fla, but why in summer of all times? That just proves yer a mad man.... I hope you get there do yer thing and get out.... I lived for 2 years in Fla and summer is hard on yanks....
