I live in the McAllen Mission area and the problem is even worse in some of the other area hospitals. I teach school in a low income area and there is no way of knowing who is legal or not. We aren't allowed to ask.

The sad thing is it probably costs almost as much on a per-capita basis for us to catch and deport them.

Maybe we could just deport the parents and keep the babies, and hold them as colateral until the parents come up with the dough. And no baby-sponsored citizenship either. Meanwhile we send a bill to the Mexican government for the criminal actions of their citizens. They won't pay of course, but we'd be racking up the billions and trillions on paper and eventually we could sell the paper back to them for oil or avacodos or something.

I am so sick of this. We have people in the U.S. who are legal citizens and have paid their dues to society and can't get the help they need when they become severely ill. They walk across the border and get emergency medicaid. Give me a break. They think that just coming to the U.S. will be a better life. That's because they will live on welfare at the taxpayers bill.

problem is is that everyone keeps voting in politicians that are very sympathetic to this. Clinton and Obama were both asked if they support the continued help for this type of medical abuse and they both agreed the US should turn a blind eye to it and they wouldn't want in reported.

I think everyone should know. thats what the internet is for.

I didn't want to do this, but here goes... The costs associated with illegal immigration to our society are innumerable. These people live more or less off the grid. If you are involved in a traffic accident in Phoenix, there's about a 30% chance the other driver will have insurance. That's not illegal aliens only, but elsewhere, it's about 30% who don't have insurance, not the other way around. We have a lot of violent shootings and kidnappings here, due to the illegal movement of these people by coyotes (smugglers). Last week a pickup truck crashed between Phoenix and the border and there were 60 (SIXTY!) people in it. The police raid drop houses weekly and take dozens, sometimes hundreds into custody. Any fast food place you go to, it's a struggle to order something because they don't always understand you and you don't understand them.

I am not trying to sound racist, and I have no bone to pick with hispanics, per se. They are nice people for the most part, I just wish they wouldn't sneak into our country through the back door.

Summer is coming and that means dozens of people will die from dehydration and exposure trying to get across about 100 miles of some of the most arid, desolate land in the country.

Anchor babies. Someone needs to challenge this in court. May be you can elucidate, but some misconstrue the 14th amendment to give people born here citizenship automatically. That's a fairly big incentive.

I am sick of the illegals, from where ever they come from. I hate that certain groups can get low or no interest loans from the government to start businesses but the average Joe on the street that has roots here, couldn't qualify. I hate that some of these businesses can be run with little or no taxes being paid, again thanks to the governement.

I have kids in my school that are getting free lunch, they can't speak a lick of English, their parents can't either, and I doubt that they are legal in any way. But we have to provide them with services of every form and fashion. It sucks when I have one of them in my office and I have to send for an interpretor to talk to the parent on speaker phone.

Ok, rant over. I have many friends of other ethnicities and religions, so I'm not some kind of racist or anything. I'm just tired of "free lunch" for those that don't deserve it when I see some of my players parents working their a$$es off for next to nothing and going without.

CJ you guys in Arizona passed a law not too long ago that can take a business away if illegals are employed there. Over 100k illegals have fled Arizona and crossed the border and now the Mexican gov't is complaining they have no room for them to return! Laaaadeeefreekindaaaaa. This should be in every state. We have plenty of people in jail that can pick our crops if there is a shortage.

Since I haven't stirred the pot enough lately. Sounds like what you want to do is what has been done here. Only allow certain things, or people, and kick off or out those things only certain people don't like ;). Now don't go flipping out on me, I know there's a huge difference in many areas, but when you get down to the underlying concept, they're very similar.

As someone who works with a lot of illegal immigrants, I tend to get very frustrated with those who have been here for years, even dozens of years, and haven't even tried to learn English or work toward their citizenship. But, in my opinion, the worst offenders are the men. The articles you've listed reflect their accepted levels of violence, excessive drinking, disrespect for America, disrespect for women, and feeling of entitlement. Yeah, some want to do the right thing, but most want to fly their Mexican flag, live like they are in Mexico, but live here free.

IMHO, we need to change the immigration system so people who genuinely want to become citizens can and those who sneak across get fingerprinted, photographed and DNA swabbed in case they try to come over again, but through legal means.

Just some opinion and a little pot stirring.

I say that we start a movement to ammend the 14th ammendment. Babies born here should only be granted citizenship if the mother is here LEGALLY in the first place. Everyone else gets a bill and jail if they can't pay. Then send the baby back home to the relatives to pay for and raise.
