For $150, I'd be all over it if I lived down there.
Course Description: Course instruction will include: The Slow Race Twelve foot slow cone weave Twenty four foot circle Off set cone weave U-Turn Exercise Iron Cross Intersection Twenty four foot Figure 8 Counter Steering Threshold Combination Braking These exercises will teach you the skills to lean your motorcycle over, and turn tighter at slow speeds. It will give you the confidence to control a large motorcycle, and carry a passenger. The MSF experienced rider course is very basic compared to that. If you can ride a bike well, but don't feel comfortable doing all of the things in that description, I'll bet that after the one day course you will be able to do all of it with comfort. If you click on the links on the site that Nico posted you will also find that you can use their bike for another $150 I wish it was offered near me. The guy who instructs that course was on the safety forum that I used to frequent, a lady rider on that board (rode a road king) took the course and loved it. |

Great idea, Nico! We can NEVER learn too much or become too complacent in our riding abilities. It's a great idea to polish up and improve on riding skills every now and then.

I know since your lay down last year it still bothers you sometimes in the mountains to lean your bike over so I think this is something you should look into so we can ride through the canyons and have fun. Build your confidence back up to where it used to be!

Thanks Nico. Always have wanted to take a course like this one. Bought the DVD when I got the Nomad back in December. Called them yesterday and will be taking the course on the 31st. I will definitely use one of their bikes, it is worth the money. The list of things they suggested that should be removed from your own bike before taking the course would be an inconvenience.
Should I survive, without embarrassing myself too much, I'll write a review of my experience. :) I just realized, thanks to this post I am a full member. OMG what have I done? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sometimes the Harley dealers have those type of courses available also, check with your local dealer.

Dan/others,
Abate of Colo teaches a Ride Like a Pro class. Don't have other details handy. When I took the ERC class they promoted it but said it was more for sport bikes, maybe you can teach them a thing or two. |

Course sounds similar to the MSF Experienced Rider Course. I'm not sure I'd use one of their bikes though. Wouldn't it be more usefull to learn on your Nomad rather than a 250 cc / 350lb. bike or whatever they have? If the worry is laying down the Nad, you could always use pipe insulation on the highway bars and the bag bars or take off the bags. Just my 2cw

I believe they use old police KZ1000's. I'd rather use some old Harley police models...
