Replacement Windshield

Have any of you replaced your windshield for something that has better protection from the elements? I've been thinking of replacing mine and have read so many different opinions that I got tired and needed a nap.

Clearview has them 2" wider and up to 2 1/2" taller with recurve.

Cee Baily has them up to 4" higher but no recurve and $100 cheaper.

Any others?

Reviews?

i have had 2 clearview in the past. no recurve and gray tint. Loved them.

My Nomad shield is getting close to needing replacement I'll go with the clearview gray tint and recurve this time.

I like my shield to be even with the end of my nose so I can see over it, get caught in heavy fog and the shield gets condensation on both sides and your real glad you can see over it.

Baggershields mount to the handlebars.
I think Brad wants to mount using the original hardware.
At least he should in my opinion, and as one member states, I can't keep my opinions to myself.

Wait a minute, you need protection from the elements? I thought the only thing you had to worry about in California was the wind wrinkling your shirt.

I admit I didn't look at what they had to offer.
Can't keep your opinions to yourself?
I hadn't noticed.

A new windshield to protect you from what? You live in California. What the hell can you possible need protection from? Too much wind?

Brad, If you do get a new shield, I would suggest one with the re-curve at the top, It makes the shield act like it is 2~3 inches taller than it is, and your lovely companion will benefit from it also, it'll push the air up over her head too, at least it does on mine, and the 2" wider would offer more protection too. It might help to keep a couple of wrinkles out of the shirt.

My windshield needs replacing and I'm currently looking at a Clearview.
Wife gets a lot of wind buffeting so I'm thinking of going +4inches and 2 inches wider with recurve.
I'm not tall so yes I will be looking thru windshield that has never bothered me.
Its the buffeting on the passenger I'm trying to eliminate.
Any constructive advice???

I got a re-curve shield after the crash in 05 for my 10 1500 and hated it. The curve was right where my eyes see. made a nasty distortion. Went back to stock asap. just sayin'.

Thought of cutting 2" off the recurve from the bottom using the old shield as a template so you are just looking over it? Not sure if would work on fork mounts, but should be good on a fairing. Did it help with wind on you or passenger? I'm looking to get one for my Voyager soon but want it short enough, I'm looking just over it.
