Riser Question

I did a search but could not find the answer.

I want to install 4x2 risers on the bike but I'm not sure if I have to replace the brake lines. Seems to be mixed thoughts on the web about it.

What do you guys say?

Riser Question

Normally if you go over 3" you have to either re-route the cables and brake/clutch lines or replace them with longer ones.

Riser Question

I stuck the 2" spacers under my stock risers and they work, but there isn't very much cable left. I dontt think I could have gone any bigger without changing some cables or lines.

I installed Phat11, up 2.5, back 3, risers on 08 Nomad. Brake cables are snug, but not to the point of having to replace. I agree with oldbiker, if you went 4&2 would probably have to replace.
I'm 5-7, 145lbs, and Phat11 works well for me if that helps you get an idea of fit. The back 3" was the most important factor for me.
Remember, with Phat11 you can probably get the arm height you need by just adjusting the bar.

Riser Question

I installed the Scooterworks risers, about 2 3/4 " and the brake line was at its limit - BUT, you can (I did) loosen the brake reservoir and slide it inboards aways to help some.

Riser Question

You can tug on those lines and some have found a little more line that was slack'n behind the cowling. Give'm a pull.

I'm 4" up and 2" back with these PhattII's on both my 1600's. No cable problems.

Riser Question

I added 4" to my stock risers. The brake line where the tightest but after some manipulation and taking off the nylon bands off the handlebars they do fit.

Riser Question

That helps me a lot. I have risers from my C50 and didn't want to buy new ones if I didn't need to. I'll give them a shot and try to re-route the lines.

Thanks everyone.

Riser Question

I don't know how you guys did it. I added 2" risers to mine. No pull back except for what the angle of forks gives. the front brake cable is TIGHT. Yes I checked for some more ply but there is none.
I don't think I could go any higher with out changing the top part of the brake hose.

I'll probably try it this weekend. If I have to re-route the lines I'll take some pics and share them.

The C50 risers may hit the speedo shroud.

I put them up there when I had the stock risers off, looked like plenty of clearance. However, I would have to either open the holes in the triple tree or buy new risers to accomodate the bolt.
